Both pitchers in the game were awesome. Chula Vista had only 1 hit until Great Lakes changed their pitcher.

15-3 in 4 innings. Walk-off Grand Slam by Grant Holman.

Am I the only one who thinks that LLB should review the 200' fences? Kids today are much more advanced in hitting than when I was a kid.

Moved them to 225' 3-4 years ago.. its the bats... I have seen at least 4-5 homeruns this weekend on horrible, off balance swings, where the player dosnt even square it up.

Didn't know that. Aluminum bats came around back when I was in LL majors. I didn't like them, they just felt weird. But the newer bats are pretty advanced. But now BB is a year round sport for many kids and they also have year round outside training centers to get individualized straining.

Baseball players in SoCal, AZ, Texas & the South are very polished due to year round exposure and advance training. There is no shortage of former college/pro athletes investing money on training facilities . The bonus lies with the number of parents willing to pay for speed, hitting, fielding, plyometric coaches...

All the training and being able to face the best in your area in club/travel team tournies every weekend aids the machine as well.

For the vast majority of the kids, it's just fine.

Remember, teams in the LLWS aren't your average little leaguers.

Then perhaps they should think about moving them back for post league games.

I suppose some would. People say the same thing about dunks in basketball. I prefer a great block or assist over a dunk myself.
