Weddle returns from two-game absence, Green out

As expected, Eric Weddle returns for the Chargers Monday night but Ladarius Green and Orlando Franklin are inactive vs. the Bears.

The Chargers had previously listed King Dunlap, Denzel Perryman and Manti Te’o as out. Green and Franklin did not practice last week and had been listed as doubtful.

The Bears had previously declared Matt Forte and Eddie Royal as out. Rookie Jeremy Langford gets his first NFL start at running back in place of Forte.

Weddle returns from a two-game absence related to a groin injury and returns to a secondary that needs him. Cornerback Jason Verrett is active, too, after also being listed as questionable due to a groin injury.

Earlier Monday, center Chris Watt became the ninth Chargers player to be placed on injured reserve. Add Dunlap and Franklin’s lingering issues and the offensive line has been a mess.

Darrell Stuckey and Corey Liuget are also out for the Chargers. The Bears’ other inactives are Harold Jones-Quartey, Shea McClellin, Hroniss Grasu, Tayo Fabuluje and Ziggy Hood. Matt Slauson is slated to start at center in place of Grasu.
