KC Oline is solid, Dline did as good as they possibly good given the talent.
we had a really good chance at a redzone stop if our best player could cover their best player.

Disagree, Mahomes just throws it elsewhere or runs with it.
Kelce caught two balls on that drive....others were involved.
They had one 3rd down play?

Feiler was definitely a weak link tonight, but Zion and Salyer had their problems too. KC brought a lot of pressure at different times and we struggled to adjust and take advantage (the Keenan fumble was one of the few times we dialed up a play call to make them pay for their aggressiveness).

We had a touchdown lead going into halftime, and the ball to start the third quarter. Playcalling up to that point had been aggressive, but we turned conservative, and didn't turn it up again until the fourth quarter. That was frustrating.

And yet, we retook the lead and had a chance. But the defense couldn't get it done. The Derwin hold call was weak, they were holding us too but only we got called for it. Still, the bend then break defensive strategy continues. Why not be aggressive on that last drive defensively? Why not take away Travis Kelce and force Mahomes to beat you with a different receiver? I already know the explanation Staley will give-- we put our best defensive player on their best receiver, they just beat us. Other coaching staffs are often able to erase our best offensive player in key situations, even if they have to deploy more resources to do it. We seem to stick with the same old scheme regardless-- and it makes for a very predictable defense. It can work at times against some second-tier opponents. But not the better teams.

Kelce is a HOF player. But with the Chiefs down 3 receivers in this game, you would like to think a defensive coach could have come up with a plan to double cover him. He kills us every game

What the hell was Staley/ Hill thinking? Last game Chargers used consistent chipping on Kelce to slow him off the line of scrimmage, is worked!! Kelce had a pedestrian 5 catches for 51 yds and 0 TD’s! and they didn’t attempt to duplicate this success with Chief WR’s down, that is mind boggling.

Anyway, the D just sucks that all their is to it, especially without Bosa…… The Chargers are just going to have to outscore everybody to win a freaking game,… hopefully they can get Williams back for real …..can’t depend on the defense for shit

There no longer is any good argument towards keeping Staley over Payton.

That the Spanos won't do it is not an argument: although it is reality.

Honestly, with Sean Payton out there and the consistency of being bad on D, the lack of adjustments in the 2nd half on offense. I’m done with Staley and his staff. You cannot let another brilliant offensive minded HC get swooped up by another team and watch them excel. Especially when the rumor has it that he wants to coach your team.

I would absolutely promote Jay Rodgers to DC and have him call the plays if you can’t get Vic Fangio.

Renaldo Hill can go bye bye and so can Lombo as soon as tomorrow.

He'll be a disappointment as well. Though he'll get us a few divisional playoff games. Harbaugh is still the one to go after, but I doubt his commitment to stay long-term unless he gets us to a Superbowl or two and wins one. One major problem with Harbaugh is of course the dynamics with the front office, I can see him being plenty belligerent with the Spanos', as he's got an abrasive personality. But man, the games and the wins would be glorious.

What i would do is stick with Staley, but tie his balls up by forcing him to fire his assistants and bring in John Spanos' people.

If I hear Staley say “I’m proud of the way we competed” one more time I will scream. Competing is the bare minimum. Make some plays. Win when the game is there to be won. Nobody stepped up for us tonight and I would much rather see them sell out with a blitz or two instead of letting Mahomes be comfortable in the pocket and sling a 3rd and 17 completion from his own 10 years line. There were moments when the game was there for the taking and we couldn’t make a play to take it.
