Great combo. The play to Keenan that put us in position for our second touchdown was a thing of beauty and ignited them. MW made that last drive.Originally posted by Hadl2Alworth View Post
He and Keenan are so damn good. Keenan makes it all look so easy and Williams makes the impossible play look routine. I didn't appreciate them as much as I could have until they missed some games this year.

Staley's use of the club's time outs as the Titans were about to score the game tying TD is the ONLY reason the Bolts had an opportunity to win the game in regulation. Let's give Staley the credit he's due there. Staley prevented the game from going to OT, where... who knows what might have happened? Titans could have got the ball first, scored a TD and won the game. Staley's use of the time outs eliminated the possibility of that disaster.
I don't believe that the Chargers EVER won a game under Mike McCoy due to shrewd coaching. But we saw some of that today.
How many times over the years have we witnessed the Chargers losing under circumstances similar to what we saw today?!? More than I care to remember!

Read the game thread. First people complained that we came out running (9 out of 13 plays) and we scored on our opening drive. Then we passed 23 out of 28 plays and scored no points and had a turnover and people complained. We pass short, people complain. We try a deep pass into the end zone that is picked, people complain. Somehow, it seems we should be able to pass deep every play, despite having little speed at WR and a line that has Herbert running for his life. Just roll out and throw 50 yard bombs every play is evidently the brilliant suggestion we should be following.Originally posted by OG619FrightninLightnin View Post
I'd like the "Lombardi is the worst OC in history" crowd
to list the calls they disagree with every game.
Is Lombardi a great OC? No. Is he the worst in the league as some here post over and over and over again in thread after thread? No. His hands are limited by the offensive line and lack of speed. Should we address the line and lack of speed at WR? Of course. Should we look long and hard and see if he should be brought back? Yes. But some of the hyperbole is just dumb and is a lazy analysis of the O.

Every yard gained on that winning drive came on those two lasers from Herb to Mike W. The first was for 16 yards, and that final dagger was for 35.Originally posted by wu-dai clan View PostThe pass to @darealmike_dub.

There are maybe five QBs in the league who can make those two throws in the circumstances Herbert faced..

I'm so glad Herbie can run like that and still make the accurate throw after his rib injury earlier in the season. It amazes me what he's doing with that injury. I still think it bothers him. (I could be wrong but that injury doesn't get healed through playing NFL football every weekend).Originally posted by wu-dai clan View PostThe pass to @darealmike_dub.

It wasn't pretty, but we won a game against a physical team with a Winning record and put ourselves in the driver's seat to make the playoffs. Certainly lots to improve on, but you have to be happy with that.
I never heard, but what was the blow up on the sidelines with the defense? We just came off the field with a sack and a Helluva Defensive stand so what could have possibly been the issue??
