If the team manages to make the post-season, you can count on Lombardi being back next year, regardless of where he stands in the League against the other OCs.

Personally, I think what Herbie has accomplished what he has this season is remarkable, given his more-serious-then-we-were-led-to-believe injury, the OL issues, and everything else (most notably, the other injuries we sustained to the WR position). But I think that's much more a statement about Herbie then it is about Lombardi.
    Replacing Lombo is easy.
There are plenty of Xs and O's guys around the league.

    Herbert is basically irreplaceable.

Lombo has a you want go broke taking a profit mentality, very different then a Bruce Arians who is no risk it no biscuit style.
Who has it better than us?

They were at the goal line when they called the last 2 I believe

Basically...whatever Herbert accomplishes is in spite of Lombardi, not because of him.

The biggest reason I want him replaced is that he is holding back back a very special player and our offence from its full potential.

Pretty sure we mention many of the same idiotic plays he calls regularly.

Vrabel played not to lose and he lost.
Staley goes for 2 and the win in same situation.

Swing passes designed by Lombardi were there again.

And at key points of the game.

              Execute the offense.

One thing worth mentioning. We have over the several weeks due to injuries etc gone to a shorter passing game. That will help in the playoffs if the weather isn't so great. We can lull the opponents defense to sleep then hit 'em over the top for a big play.

There's no surprises with Bruce Arians. Your WRs better have good cardio. He's gonna throw that shiznit downfield all night long.

That is a great point, interestingly enough Vrabel went for 2 against the Chargers in London 4 years ago and lost the game

Don't want to douse this thread with all negativity after a big win, so here's a bit of balance:

-- Michael Davis - beast. How many years we kept drafting DBs, always a constant hole? But Davis along with ASJ and Callahan may be the best group of DB's we've ever had. (No, I'm not advocating keeping Telesco, let's not go that far, lol.)

-- Congrats to Gaziano & Rumpf on their first NFL sacks.

-- Ekeler was a beast as well on a drive where we needed somebody to step up big. Dude plays with some heart. Gotta give it to him.

I really thought they'd go for 2 and the win. They tried a few seasons ago and failed when the Chargers played them in England.
