Or maybe they just know more than we do? I dont want Steven Anderson either. He isnt a good blocking TE and wasnt a good blocking FB. I dont think McKitty is as bad as some of you are complaining. about. I think most remember an easy TD that he dropped and that defines his career in those peoples eyes.

    Parham dropped one last week.

      And don't forget McMeow's drops...

No, don't lump me into that crowd, I was one of the few people that was excited about the chargers picking him in the third round in the 2021 draft...as such I've been invested in him and paying attention to his development (or lack of) over the last couple of seasons...I'm telling you, there hasn't been any tangible progress, the guy is not explosive, he doesn't block with pop, he waits for everything to come to him, he doesn't attack the ball in the air, he looks slow off the line and runs crappy routes and because he's slow footed he doesn't create anything after the catch...His blocking is hit and miss and completely inconsistent and his effort is mediocre at best, I can admit I was wrong about the McKitty pick and boy, I was really wrong, there has been little to no spark from him over the last two seasons...certainly nothing that might make me pause and say he might come around and it hasn't been for lack of opportunities, this team has needed him and he has failed to step up over and over time and again...

no biggie; I wish it was Cam Brown on that PS spot though.

OT but guess who is available? TE Stephen Anderson.
          just a thought.
          I liked Anderson.

I actually had McKitty in my final mock for us that year but I had him in the 6th. May have been the 5th but I think it was the 6th. It was one of those two.

I thought 3rd was too high but thought maybe I was missing something. They passed on some other players I liked better there.

In the end, everyone probably forgets we got Rashawn Slater, ASJ, and Josh Palmer 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
All they remember is Tre McKitty.

                I wanted Elijah Molden @#100.
I seem to remember a lot of Janarius Robinson love going on back then, too. Talk about a guy who hasn't done anything yet...

Jabril Cox, Kenneth Gainwell, Elijah Mitchell, Quin Meinertz, Chuba Hubbard, Trey Smith, Khalil Herbert... pretty deep draft.

IIRC, people were more up-in-arms about the Joshua Palmer pick than the Tre McKitty pick...

Gerald Everrett on jet sweeps...?! LOL! Dude must not know about Derius Davis.
How could you read "all you could about the Chargers for 4 weeks" and not know that Derius Davis gets the jet sweep and bubble screens...?

BTW... I told you so [everybody]!

                    Yes - I remember all the JP angst . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Tyron Johnson vs JP, speed vs possession, and Chaincrusher vs the world (OMG) . . . . .

I think he meant JACUZZI jets.

Or maybe B-B-B-Benny and the Jets.
If he was doing nothing but reading... maybe he never got out of the Eastern Time Zone. Maybe he never went to an actual practice...

And this is my big beef... a lot of these writers/analysts/pundits know a lot less about the Chargers than some of us (who actual watch the team... and know the players). People are being lazy. Maybe they've heard others talk about the Jacksonville loss... or they've heard others talk about "Chargering"... or they believe in curses and witchcraft... I can't really explain it.

All I know is... I watched a bunch of backups try to execute an archaic blocking scheme all last year... and what I've seen in a short 3 weeks looks NOTHING like last year. And we haven't even seen any of our stars on the field, yet.

Dudes are sleeping on us... and I'm OK with that.
I just won't repeat what's being regurgitated right now... I know better.

                          Here's my list of complaints:
-Only 10 catches last year on 18 targets...with an average of 4.0 yards per targeted play. Success rate when targeted?* An ugly 22%
                          -I don't see any YAC
                          -Nothing much as a blocker
                          -A PFF score of 31.8!

I have no earthly idea why this guy is on the roster.

*Success rate = A successful reception gains at least 40% of yards required on 1st down, 60% of yards required on 2nd down, and 100% on 3rd or 4th down. Denominator is targets
