    Austin Eckeler Appreciation Thread

Austin just played on a whole another level this year. I don't think we win half the games this year without him. Kind of a scary thought is would Justin Herbert perform the same without him.

Hats off to Austin this year. He is my 2022 MVP for this year.

I really like Ekeler but he is really at his best within 10-20 yards of the endzone. He is really elite in those situations. If only he'd be as effective running the ball in midfield he'd be even better. He's bore a huge workload this season and deserves all the credit he gets and more.

Eck is a great player that would benefit immensely from a consistent ground attack plan and punishing RB to compliment him. I think he would put up even bigger numbers. Here is to hoping the new OC can figure it out on the ground...

I'm in the minority here. I like Ek and he does so much with less but he CAN NOT be the feature back.

He's going to be in his 7th year. And RBs explosiveness wane down by that time.

I wish we did more with Spiller. Hope he improves. I don't know if Kelly is enough.

            Love Eke.
saving money to send my baby girl to his football camp.

Gotta keep an eye on the wifey though, I see her blush when watching an interview.

Don't make me hate you Ekeler!

Coulda had Fournette if Telesco listened to me instead of a banged up Mike Williams.

Ek seemed to get stronger this year. I didnt see any wear n tear

still would prefer to see a bruiser opening holes for him (i thought Horvath would be the one)

Ekeler can make anybody miss, i just prefer its safeties and CB's instead of Lineman and LB's.

agree. needs to be a situational back; especially as he ages.

Could of had Mohomes. MW was a terrible pick at 7; especially with what was available.

I'd like us to use him likes Sproles.

Didn't understand why Spiller & Hovart didn't play this year. (I thought they were going to be a 1-2 punch with Ek as 3rd down back...)

                      Or moving him to WR?

                      Go Eckler!!!

                      Go Bolts!!!

I would like to find a better TE, because when he plays RB, he does his best work on option routes, and those work best with an option route guy at TE, or with a real pass catcher-type TE running MESH combinations with Ekeler.

The rest of the time, I would rather see him get more reps as a slot WR. In 2019, he spent a lot of time in the slot, and that season he caught more than half his TD and almost half his 1st downs from the slot. But until we have a more heavy duty type of RB, it is going to be tough getting him out of the backfield. That RB may be Spiller, but he was so under whelming, it is hard to think you can count on it.
