    McCoy extended

On the Telesco end-of-season PC ... extended to 2017.

They wanted stability, the coaching changes were not a condition for his extension.

Telesco says that they wanted a different direction on offense, more flexibilty with the OC.

Whisenhunt is on the list for OC, among others.

Hopefully the contract extension makes signing assistant coaches a little easier.

        Tidbits from the PC...

They could keep the practice facility here if they move.

Telesco personally moved on from his extension, wasn't a tight secret.

No further interest in Weddle (time to move on), wants Gates back.

OL coach responsible for run coordination.. would want that in the next coach.

        "Losing sucks"

Confirmed that Dean Spanos was in the decision to keep McCoy.

        No specific draft priorities.

Still not wanting to do the Hard Knocks, thinks it's a distraction, but probably will roll with the decision.

Says that as professionals, the potential move shouldn't have been a distraction to the front office.

Telesco seems to be putting the blame on the close loses on personnel... either himself, or the players talent / availablilty, but not on coaching/schemes.

He said that he has final say on the 53 man roster.

Telesco on Chargers field position issues "I thought Jacoby Jones was going to fix that...I missed on that badly."

It sounds like they are looking, but maybe not getting any bites. My guess is the open positions at HC elsewhere is more of a driver, but they are probably waiting until next week to do anything on recruiting coaches.

Steeg says they must vacate within six months of breaking.

Clarifying... he did say that they plan do continue off-season sessions here, but that could change next week.

Good. No fucking way the city should allow this to happen.

I'm glad McCoy's stay is extended. That way the Spanoses won't be winning championships as soon as I stop rooting for them.

I felt badly for the Fontiere and Modell fans who had to suffer watching their former favorites ditch them and be victorious.

Makes sense as far as signing assistants, especially when they have already said he is coming back.

Also announced that the extension was done on Monday, when they re-iterated he would be back.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
