Fibiani has all but disappeared since the day after the relocation announcements when he acknowledged having email contact with the Mayor and City negotiator Chris Melvin. I read/heard 1 more short comment attributed to him that "Mr. Spanos WILL call the mayor back" and that's about it. The guy's never been short on words or insults or shy about getting his mug on TV. This apparently deliberate disappearance is like Niagra Falls turning into Death Valley.

Is this the turning point we were all hoping for which leads to his exit and a new dialogue with the team?

Mods: I know this is related to the existing massive 'potential relocation and new stadium' thread- but figured the subplot of what happens now with the most hated person in Chargersland was interesting enough to deserve its own thread and discussion.

I think it happens just prior to the March deadline by the NFL for a LA decision for 2016. They will deliberate this up to the end, even though I think it's pretty clear Deano is under siege and now needs to protect his 75% fanbase.

Dean could certainly throw the fans a bone by firing Fabiani but since Fabiani is just doing what Dean wants, it would just be for PR. And since PR is something the Spanos family has zero skill at, maybe we shouldn't hold our breath here.

right. Better PR is the most glaring need for the Chargers going forward (off the field at least) and they have to drastically change directions to get where they want to be. They seem to have relied on FIBs for most of it the last 14 years and removing him would be the 1 step to changing for the better. They ought to hire a professional PR firm that can win people back and promote a better relationship with the city and fans. The sons should be the face of the kinder, gentler image.
