I'm not rooting for him over our two draft picks, as I want the best players to show themselves for us, but I will never turn my back on a stand-up guy who has worked his ass off to get better in the way Johnston has since he was drafted.

It's not that big of a deal to me that Lal said that Tre and Lambert-Smith came in out of shape. At the same time, I don't get it. I guess we can attribute it to young guys being stupid, and let's hope they've learned from it.
For the record, when I say I'm not rooting for Johnston over the two rookies, I mean I'm rooting for them all equally. I just want the best players to earn their spots. Admittedly, though, Johnston's exemplary effort to get better will make me happier to see him succeed than I would for a David Boston type of player.

Interesting that nobody called out Hampton, Kennard, Gadsen, and the other picks conditioning. Just the WR’s.

I also don't think he was really calling them out on how they approach conditioning, more stating the reality that rookies who have been on the draft interview circuit flying all over for a couple of months and havent been focused on training like the veterans have, usually start the off season program a little behind in that area.
I am sure in another 6 weeks when training camp kicks in for real Tre Harris and KLS will be catching up to the pack now that they are training full time like everyone else

I wondered that too. Hampton looks like he's in ridiculous beast shape though - dude would shatter diamond chisels if they even dared to sculpt on his rock body. I haven't heard about the others though. Maybe they werent invited to the banquets.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

Its no big deal imo. Used to be TC was where you got in shape before it became a year round thing so if they are working on it now, by preseason they should be fine.
They got them 2 a days coming lol
