Chargers re-signed TE Antonio Gates to a two-year, $12 million contract with $6 million guaranteed.
It took longer than expected, but the two sides got the deal done. Entering his 14th season with the Chargers, Gates is already the organization's all-time leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns. San Diego may bring in some help for the future Hall of Famer, but Gates will remain a vital part of the offense. Turning 36 in June, Gates will return to a talented pass-catcher corps that now includes a healthy Keenan Allen and Stevie Johnson, and 4.36 speedster signee Travis Benjamin. Philip Rivers should be excited.
