I was just a nine year old kid when I became a charger fan, I didn't really pay attention to that stuff."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Klein was a lot smarter than Span, i'll give him that. He dumped the team to the guy that did move them, so ...Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post
No. Klein earned his fortune unlike Dean who was bestowed the Chargers because of lucky DNA.
Klein didn’t put his shit for brains sons in charge of everything and didn’t rip the team out of San Diego.
Dean gets the whole bag of dicks for himself.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Gene Klein was a smart owner but was more of a tight ass than Spanos IMO. AL Davis was Klines worst enemy. Didnt Kline die of a heart attack while on the stand in the raider anti trust suit when Davis was trying to move the raiders from Oak to LA around the early 80's? I thought by the time Spanos bought the team Klein had passed. Could be wrong. Klein had one thing in mind, that was to be a pain in the ass to uncle AL and to keep him in Oak. But when it came to shelling out money to keep talent he was the worst. He was a tight wad. You guys know more about spanos than I do, I just remember the Klein years. Not a whole lot of veteran's wanted to play for the Chargers then.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

Wiki says Klein died in 1990. He sold the to the FUdean senior in 1984. They say he had one of his grabbers on the stand during the antitrust lawsuit. Davis and the FUdean are both giant douchbagsOriginally posted by colorado View Post

Thank you, I thought it was in the 80's. I was trying to go off of memory. They say when you get older memory is the first thing that goes.Originally posted by Wrbanwal View Post

He hated him with a passion.. In 1981 Klein suffered a near fatal heart attack in the raider anti trust testimony. I knew something happened to him in the early 80's. He later in 1990 suffered a fatal heart attack.Last edited by colorado; 06-22-2023, 06:24 PM.

Jerry would have built a palace here in SD ... and somehow conned the city or county into paying for it. I kind of hate him as an owner but he's not worse than Spanos. He would never rent an ADU from Kroenke.Originally posted by DerwinBosa View Post
It's also funny how Jerry Jones wanted to be the Chargers' owner.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Brees had a handful of games like that in 2005. If Brees hadn't gotten injured at the end of that season, Rivers may have been traded to the Dolphins, and Nick Saban may have lasted a lot longer in the NFL.Originally posted by Maniaque 6 View Post
The kind of Chargers game we won't see again anytime soon.
Brees : 22-44-215y, 3 INTs
Tomlinson : 25-184y, 3 TDs
(Maybe these posts should be moved to the "LT Birthday" thread)
