    2023 Season Record Prediction Thread

    Here's the schedule:

    WeeK 1: Miami Dolphins
    Week 2: @ Tennessee
    Week 3: @ Minnesota
    Week 4: Raiders
    WEEK 5: Bye
    Week 6: Dallas
    WEEK 7: @ KC
    Week 8: Chicago
    Week 9: @ NY Jets
    Week 10: Detroit
    Week 11: @ Green Bay
    Week 12: Baltimore
    Week 13: @ New England
    Week 14: Denver
    Week 15: @ Raider
    Week 16: Buffalo
    Week 17: @ Denver
    Week 18: KC

I think that might be the toughest schedule I can ever remember seeing since I've been following football.

No gimmees, every week is a bloodbath or a division game. Bye is early which is not good. Three 10am PT games. Multiple short weeks. I took a look at KCs schedule and it's tough too but they have long weeks before a lot of their games & their bye is later in the season.

I just don't think this team is deep enough or physical enough for what they're up against. Their only legit NFL tailback is 180 lbs. Their guards are both playing new positions and Linsley is old & beat up. Depth behind them is very questionable. Pipkins is already hobbling around. Right now they only have 1 legit base defense defensive tackle in Joseph-Day. Fox is good but he's a pass rush specialist. The other 2 are on the PUP list. Bosa and Mack are both old and there isn't anything behind them. Kendricks is old and looked old last year. Murray is Murray - you hope he doesn't injure too many of our players. Depth in the secondary is extremely slim. Jasir Taylor is likely gonna be playing a huge role and didn't look at all great last season.

I got them down for 7-10. Don't know how but I've just seen this movie too many times before with the lack of depth. I think they'll start off 0-3 and have to dig themselves out of that hole the entire year. They'll be a 7-10 team nobody wants to play but will find too many ways to lose games they should have won - basically a repeat of the '20 season.

    Shoot me.

        WeeK 1: Miami Dolphins
        Week 2: @ Tennessee
        Week 3: @ Minnesota
        Week 4: Raiders
        WEEK 5: Bye

I think we're 3-1 at the bye, with the loss either being in the opener to Miami or @ Minnesota. I don't know what to think of Miami, I could see them being awesome and taking the #1 seed or being 9-8. If we're coming into that game healthy (fingers crossed) and they're missing Ramsey, I think I like our chances. I kind of like Minnesota but they can win or lose any game. Tennessee is a tough 7-10ish kind of team IMO and the Raiders suck. We were legit good the first 1.75 games of last season until Linsley went out and Herbert took that ribs shot. When this team is actually whole, its really good. Depth and sustainability is the issue.

        Week 6: Dallas
        WEEK 7: @ KC
        Week 8: Chicago
        Week 9: @ NY Jets

I see us going 2-2 in this stretch. I think Kellen's inside knowledge is a huge asset in that Dallas game. We always play well in KC and I genuinely think this could be the year they take a slight step back with how young their receiving group is, but its crazy for anyone to predict a win there. I like our chances against Chicago (specifically, Staley's ability to gameplan for that weird Fields' offense) but I have a bad feeling the Jets are like 4-4 or 3-5 and then play awesome against us.

        Week 10: Detroit
        Week 11: @ Green Bay
        Week 12: Baltimore
        Week 13: New England

I think we go 3-1 here, losing @GB or to Baltimore. I think Detroit is way overrated and will find out, like the Rams did, that a system can only protect Goff for so long. The Packers are a mystery box with Love but still have a lot of talent on defense that was poorly coached/used last year by a Fangio disciple (sound familiar?). Baltimore is a tough game, although I don't really buy that Odell/Flowers/Bateman is going to turn them into some devastating passing attack now. The New England game might be the one I want to win most this year, we haven't beaten those fuckers since Matt Cassell filled in for Brady. I think we finally do it.

        Week 14: Denver
        Week 15: @ Raider
        Week 16: Buffalo
        Week 17: @ Denver
        Week 18: KC

I'll go with 3-2 in this tough stretch to close it out. I think Denver will be much more competent this year, Payton is a dick but he's a great coach. Raiders suck. Bills could be a really fun game and I actually think we match up well with them. Who knows who is actually playing/whats at stake in that Week 18 Chiefs game.

11-6 overall. I do think this could be a really, really good time. Last year just about everything went wrong offensively, both with injuries and coaching. This year, if we aren't completely crippled by injuries again I think we see just how high a floor you get with an elite QB and solid protection. The defense is still a question mark, but I do trust Staley to gameplan for individual opponents. The biggest question with this team for me is those backup EDGE spots. We really, really need at least one of Tuli or Rumph to be viable rotation guys and we should be jumping on any decent passrusher that gets cut over the next few weeks.

17-0 Probably not' cause we always screw something up but no one's better than us.
            Make that 14-3.

Hell Van Noy is still unsigned I'd love to have him back. Those spots make me really nervous as well.

I still can't get over the schedule when I look at it. Literally ever game is a slugfest you're gonna have to play well in to compete. Even chicago you gotta deal with an entirely different offense than typical.

Yeah. I could see going anywhere between 7-10 and 14-3. The key to me is Staley getting the defense together. This is a big year for him.
