How are we not doing a Coryell throwback uniform this season???

I was waiting and waiting for the announcement, and I guess it is not coming.

Don Coryell, the architect of Air Coryell, finally makes it to the HOF and we don't do a royal blue throwback in his honor?? these owners are truly clueless.

for anyone not old enough to have seen those days and understand how bad ass the Chargers were in those days, how about these records:

The Chargers led the league in passing yards an NFL record six consecutive years from 1978 to 1983, and again in 1985. They also led the league in total yards in offense from 1978 to 1983 and in 1985.

Royal blues will always be my preferred Charger uniform. I hope we do a total uniform when we can tbh. Don't hate the powder blue by any means, but do prefer our previous colors.

Considering the organization just brought in new uniforms 3 years ago, uniforms probably weren't at the top of the lists of priority for the Spanos. Teams have to submit their uniform choices to the league office (and with approval by Goodell) in time before the season. Which the Spanos or someone in the organization would have to do.

But it would be nice to have both the navy blues of Seau's and Tomlinson's prime years and the Coryell royal blues as alternates over the alternates we have now. I really can't stand the current navy blue and royal blue alternates with the white helmets. I think they both look ridiculous.

I don’t like the navy jersey. Powder blue and white are my jam. I like the electric/royal blue as a change up but not navy. I hate the yellow pants from the Coryell era - those were hideous, white is much better. I prefer the white helmet to blue helmet, that was a huge improvement and a toss back to the OG AFL Charger origins.

All of these throwback ideas: navy shirts, yellow pants, blue helmets, … meh. just in general I think the current 2020’s uni’s have never looked better and I am not for going back. Coryell is dead, we march onward, we play modern football damnit!
