and once again the Chargers find themselves in a protracted hold
out over team principles compared to standard practice and as usual the Chargers are fucking it up.
let's recap:
Jackson: we missed him the last few years. but the proved they can put their foot down and draw that line in the sand.
weddle: if they weren't going to give him an extension, they should have cut his ass instead of letting him walk. we ended up with a disgruntled player who
did the minimal to get paid.
and now bosA. the biggest year in team history and were squabbling over bonus payout. not the amount of money, but payment disbursement. fucking stupid. this guy needs to be in camp. but we gotta stand by our principles.
fucking typical.
I don't buy the rumor garbage about tests. those can be masked. or the spanos don't have the cash. it's just fucking stupid stubbornness.

It's stubbornness on both parts. Spanos is a horrible owner, no doubt, but Bosa's camp is just as stupid for making this such an issue.
I was siding with the Chargers on this until I learned that the top draft picks get 100% of their guaranteed money in the first year, usually in exchange for keeping the offset language.
But supposedly the Chargers have offered to give more percentage of the guaranteed money but Bosa's camp won't budge off 100%. So, yes both sides are being stubborn. I still have to say I think Bosa's side is being more stubborn but it's ridiculous that it's even gotten to this point, in a year where the Chargers can't afford any bad PR.
I understand the Chargers not wanting to give in and start a chain reaction for future contracts but given that top 5 picks get this kind of deal all over the NFL, it seems to me that they could actually make an exception in this case and not damage any negotiations in the future.
