That reminds me of a story one of the employees at Angel Stadium told me when I was a sportswriter...at that time, Gene Autry was the owner of the Angels...turns out that ex-President Richard Nixon was visiting, and Autry was a big Nixon fan...remember this was a few years after Nixon resigned due to the Watergate scandal...the message board person was supposed to type in some generic message like, "We'd like to give a warm welcome to President Nixon, who is in the owner's box with Mr. Autry!" Well, turns out the guy on the message board was a flaming liberal, and couldn't resist making some joke about Watergate, and typed it in for, oh, about 20,000+ fans to read...word is, Autry saw it and went ballistic...I believe the dude was fired...Originally posted by CivilBolt View PostComment
