Did anyone clarify the pronunciation of this guy's name? Reminds me of that VW commercial for the 'Touareg'.

    It's it "Too-erk"?
    Or "Toke"?
    Or "Took" (long 'O')?
    Or maybe "Turk"?

Here are knee-jerk reactions and grades for Day 2 of the NFL draft, which featured Rounds 2 and 3.

San Diego Chargers: C Max Tuerk – Before suffering a torn ACL last season, Tuerk was emerging as one of the nation’s better centers. But he's tall and skinny (he was at 269 last season at one point) for the position, and some scouts say he could be a tackle in the NFL. This could be a bit of a redshirt season. He’s up to almost 300 pounds now. A fascinating prospect. Grade: B

After seeing some of this guys highlights, pretty impressed. He really has some wheels on him for a man his size. Now can he actually keep the pocket clean? He seems to have the length, but will he have the girth and power to hold up against these mammoth DTs we are seeinging now?

Really hope his knee is recovered. He surely would have been a higher pick were it not for the injury. Like many others, I also thought the center position was the root of all the line issues. Fix the center and the rest will follow.

I wish the dude's name was pronounced Twerk. It would give him that Boy Named Sue anger quality.
Turk is just a little too badass.
There is a reason Courtney Hall was the best center of my Chargers fandom.

New sprinklers (and lines), installed a Rachio sprinkler controller, new electrical, fence lighting, in-ground lighting, new raised garden area (and she planted some corn for me) that is gopher and bird proof. Still have to finish the waterfall area (elevated planting area behind it) but now we are at the point where we can start planting (did put in some mondo grass around the pond last week). We took a couple of trees down and I have been digging out roots. I haven't even got out to hit balls on the weekends. Next up is we take down her backyard patio and go back with a new one that will have built in LED lighting. I'd like to move my grill and smoker off the main patio which means a new concrete pad along the North side of the house with a cover so I can cook when it rains. Would like to frame an enclosure there so I can store my charcoal and keep it dry. At some point I have to remove the wood ledge under the kitchen window and frame an enclosure with a countertop to hide the sprinkler controller and some plumbing work we had done when we remodeled the kitchen. Probably go with tile on that. That will give us some storage space for pond stuff and garden hand tools etc, but I need to find a place to look at some SS doors and drawers so I know what to build. She also has an elevated patio that the previous owner used regular brick as pavers (with a Douglas fir border) that we need to take out and redo. I'll have to do a small retaining wall in the back and run a sprinkler line under it in order to get water to a raised planter along her side wall.

This is the first weekend I have actually not been covered in dirt and mud by 9AM and the first weekend I actually thought about football.
                Wow. I feel exhausted.

Spot on Beerman. This is the most important pick of our draft: if Tuerk can come in and play the C position with ANY degree of skill and ability, our O line problems are behind us.

amen brother....when you read his scouting report it's interesting to note his negatives are all pretty much correctable : Needs more weight, needs to hit the weight room to get stronger, coming off of knee surgery etc.....

but when you look at his strinths, they look like every other centers negs: natural bender, plays with leverage, elite movement in space, good base anchors against bull rushers, adjusts to moving targets

this guy could be special, adding muscle and pounds shouldn't be an issue, if his Knee is ready he could be our starter
Forget it Donny you're out of your element

Could the OT position have been upgraded? For sure...but injuries to key contributors all last year aside, the interior oline was by far much more worse in overall production (or lack there of) in comparison. Trevor Robinson and Orlando Franklin being the main culprits...just watch these few seconds in these clips to see why life for Rivers & Gordon behind last years oline was so miserable and you'll see why center and guard position was much more of a need then tackle. Warning be prepared to cringe...

Kyle Posey breaks down why USC's Max Tuerk is the player we've been waiting for to replace Nick Hardwick.

                          Trevor Robinson was a nightmare.

Almost makes me laugh thinking back to last season with people thinking he was the answer at Center before the season started. Just a very limited guy, who performed ok for a couple games the end of the season before.

I am hoping Tuerk has made a full recovery.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
