Turns out our defense blew their wad last week. No resistance today at all.

Maybe we can beat a crap GB team next week.

But then our offense blew it's wad THIS week so.... we shall see.

With the Bills, Chiefs and Ravens still on the schedule how many more games can we lose and realistically believe we are going to make the playoffs this season?! Staley's days as coach here are winding down friends.

I'm not surprised by this loss, Detroit is just better. But the shootout was fun at least and Herb and O was back cooking. The future is bright if a legit HC is brought in next season.

There is always a "silver lining" in our losses.

Ironically the defense, which has been trash, has closed out most of our winning games this year. Today the offense shows up in a big way, and the defense is nowhere to be found. We can never get a complete team. Even an average defensive performance today could have won.

A merely poor performance by the D would have got the victory.

This defense is not ready for prime time. Over 500 yards given up, 200 yards given up on the ground, no turnovers created, no sacks . . . . . . . . . . . Sure makes a difference when you're not playing against terrible offenses.

Silver lining - the offense (and Herbert) looks like what we expected - Finally . . . . . . . . . . . .

I honestly think this offense could look this way most weeks, except for Staley being obsessed with playing conservative, keeping games close and playin not to lose..... our offwense plays more aggressive and BETTER WHEN WE ARE BEHIND!!!!!.....

The difference in this game was the interception and 3 and outs early.
Lions could not stop Chargers depleted offense unit once it got going.

Lions played great out of the break. Good for them. It wasn't a great defensive performance. But doesn't Bosa and Mack and Tuli have to show up more than they did today. Lions were the rested team. Campbell also chose not to punt or kick FG. Not many coaches are going to do that, most will punt or kick FGs. And it took all that by Dan and his staff to win. Bye the way their DC Glenn didn't have any answers in the 2nd half.

Silver lining. Chargers offense under Moore woke up today.

Good point there, Critty...I wasn't all that impressed with Moore's playcalling early...all those Ekkie up the gut calls for nada or nearly nada...and the 3 and outs...if we get at least a figgie on one of those drives, we might win...too bad our D failed so epically...

The Spanii will be giddy at seeing what Ben Johnson did or Slowik from the Texans and hire a young up and comer - again - without the chops or experience to handle the job that is needed for this organization

^ Yep...Moore only started dialing up the creative plays after we were behind...I wish we'd just come out gunning from the get-go instead of all that lame up the gut for nada stuff...

Please stop, it was atrocious defensive performance one of plenty served by Brandon "total fraud as HC" Staley.

The easiest and weakest thing to do is bash the HC after any loss. If Staley is a fraud then Dan Campbell is a fraud too who happen to win by a FG today.

FWIW. Campbell is 6 games under .500 and never made playoffs.

Staley is above .500 and made playoffs.

This is all defensive scheming. Our players are not that bad. Why try and convince ourselves that with a few more defenders things would get better. I think a competent DC would have us mid pack. Staley really doesn't know what he's doing unless he's gifted with 7 pro bowlers on defense. Think about it. tired of the excuses really.
