    Welcome WR James Jones....

    Per pft.com:

The Chargers needed an experienced wide receiver to replace Stevie Johnson, so after combing a few of them, they settled on one.

He was the best choice out of who we had in for tryouts, IMHO.

Merged! Great addition IMO. If you look at the stats of the 3 players they were looking at, Jones stands out.

In many respects, if I had the choice between a healthy James Jones & a healthy Stevie Johnson, I would likely pick James Jones anyway.

Jones may be older, but dude has been solid & made some clutch plays over the years. Plus, he filled in for Jordy very admirably last season.

Not sure if I can rave about Stevie's body of work quite as much.

Sometimes, things have a way of working out....hopefully, this will work out as I am imagining it.

Not sure...Jones only seems to put up numbers when Rodgers is his QB. Didn't he have a year in Oakland when he was awful? Also, can he play the slot like Stevie? I can't help but think Hartline would have been the better fit I don't know anything about the numbers, willingness, etc.

Jones has never been awful, just has also never been a No 1 WR, which is what Oakland expected from him. I agree he is on par with Stevie Johnson, maybe even better in some ways. But I don't know how his slot play is. He always seemed to line up outside from what I remembered at GB. Especially last season. Can he play slot? Or does Keenan just move there when needed and Jones lines up out wide?

Good club house guy, too, btw.

The year Jones was in Oakland, was Carr's rookie year, when they were 31st in total offense, and Darren McFadden had a higher QBR than Carr.

I am wrong...I just read he had 77 receptions and six scores in Oakland...so yeah, that is not bad.
