Personnel seems to dictate that they literally can't take advantage of it. The receivers just... can't. Keenan Allen is the only NFL quality wide receiver that we have at this point. The other guys might as well not even be there.

I don't think I've ever seen the receiving options so destitute. And it's not like they haven't been drafting receivers highly. The guy drafting them just picks the wrong ones.

That's part his problem because all he does is stare at Keenan every snap and doesnt even look at anybody else until he's been back there holding the ball for 4 seconds. There were more plays to be made with Everett, Parham, and Eckeler in the flat

The offense under-performed. KA had a herculean effort, and Everett had some moments, but any stat showing this as a top 15 unit feels like a lie.
I expected a loss and this was closer than I thought. I can't fault the defense for this one though.
Don't worry, the D will be back to their old tricks.
Mack made a Herculean effort, he'll not repeat it again next week.

The O is missing some pieces, but still the performance was regrettable.
Herbert long run was basically the offense after the first drive.

Lots of flame outs by Moore lately, after the first drive.

It's we paid Pipkins nearly 9mil this year. While 3 Ravens..... Clowney, Van Noy and Moses cost 9mil. Telesco made this decision..it's his and Johnny's roster. It's their HC they chose. I feel bad for any HC they choose .....as you will never get a strong OL or DL and you will get very little speed as well. You will get over paid players that end up unjured or benched.
I would disagree that the issues you list are mutually exclusive. Itโ€™s both TT and the coach he hired. That coach had a lot of input on the current roster, itโ€™s mutual and neither escapes accountability.

Owners also suck but thats not a variable we can change in our improvement equation. Clean out both TT and Staley, try again. Get a GM strong and smart enough to feed Johnny in the right direction and hire a professional coach, Johnny will eat what heโ€™s given. He ate Ron Wolfโ€™s shit without even chewing, after all.

Defense played well. This is on Moore and the offense. 4 turnovers! Though one was a hail Mary.
Our OL is not very good. Zion has not played great, Slayer is average at RG, Pip is weak sauce and Clapp is just an average OC.

Against average DLs they are ok but against better DLs they suck.

Looked like Herb got dinged on that last fumble. I hope it isn't his repaired shoulder as he was reaching out for the ball

Do you think 3 OCs in 4 years is the blueprint to lead your young franchise QB to success?

lol at the Herbert hate by a few posters in particular. Yes the offense was the worse unit today. Heโ€™s also our best player.

This is not transcendent QB play.

                      Let the excuses commence.
With Brandon Staley as his HC there could never be transcendent QB play against the better teams! Our oline play and QB protection as a whole could be the worst in the league.

Correct. We are a 1 dimensional team and even that dimension has only 1 dimension. Allen gets open or it's a jail break, because we cannot run the ball.

                          Getting back to QJ.
The play where he got injured, what a hideous stab at the pass.

But, how often did he run that type of pattern in college?
He's such a mess that they prefer Erickson, who doesn't know the offense.
