As for Salyer, he's hardly played guard .... keep him out there and let him learn the position.

I'm not passing players from position to position, either. I'm simply noticing that Salyer was better at tackle than he is at guard. Salyer played tackle in college... so maybe it's the NFL coaching staff/scouts you're talking about.

This was Dan Fouts rookie season. He replaced Johnny Unitas in the 4th game, but was nearly as bad as Unitas was, throwing 6 TD passes and 13 INTs. He played in this game, but the video shows another QB they used that season, Wayne Clark. The Chargers were 2-11-1 that season, during an era when the Chargers were pretty much a laughing stock.

100% agree with this take. I can't express how much I hate seeing Pipkins out there @RT. He's an albatross around our neck. Can't throw deep... because Pipkins crumbles in fractions of seconds. Can't get TE's and RB's into the pattern... because they're too busy helping Pipkins pass block. Can't run the ball... can't throw a screen... he's useless. The worst part... you can't even cut him next year, the new contract won't allow for that.

Salyer was a better LT than he is a RG. And McFadden was a guy that I liked. What the hell do they have to lose...?
Add a HC that understands OL blocking (Frank Smith)... and you probably have a fairly decent OL next year.
Oh, and cut Linsley... spend the money on a good FA center.
