Agree. The CEO of the team is supposed to act when it is obvious someone in his executive team is failing. And some may get tired of the constant pumping up of Herbert, even if the players love him It gets old after a while. I guarantee you this will bother the ultra competitve Jim H. Because he loves football. And if you love football, you are supposed to love him. Also the position coaches other than those fired from offense seem outstanding to me (but only know what we read and how we see the players developing)Originally posted by Xenos View Post
Probably weighed down by Roman who got a D-
Last thought, professional atheletes, elite ones like NFL players, have often been coddled their entire lives. They may not fully appreciate how good they have things becuase of it. Some may be complaining about the food because they want cheeseburgers and fried chicken every meal instead of stuff they should be eating for their health.Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

I think age is a factor too. The other younger HCs got higher grades, even Aaron Glenn!, while the older HCs didn’t.Originally posted by Heatmiser View Post

Every comment I have ever heard any player ever make about Herbert in his entire career is as supportive as Jim’s comments, I doubt Jim praising the QB was part of his poor grade from enough players to register anything. I don’t even think any players (e.g. Bozeman) were a big part of it, that’s more my personal pet peeve. Players don’t criticize other players as much as fans do. I think for the players it was Groman. They practically scheduled a parade of joy when his firing was announced, very unusual display of truth.Originally posted by Heatmiser View Post

I wonder what Jim thought of it too lol. I also kind of think its unfair the NFLPA even publishes these anonymous polls - its obvious to me what they are attempting to do hereJustin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Could also be that the players surveyed like the younger cool coaches they relate to more than the older coachesOriginally posted by Heatmiser View Post
Bingo. That is why these ratings should not be taken real seriously.
Note these rankings are the players favs, not the best or most winning coaches.
One message Harbaugh could take that he has been criticized for in the past is his long, dragged out, inefficient meetings. No one in any profession likes long meetings that drag on.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? Harbaugh picks his coaching staff. Not Hortiz. Hortiz has final say for roster personnel during offseason ie. FA and the draft, but obviously he’s not doing it without input from Jim, Mike, or Chris. Regarding Boze, the other players aren’t going to ding a player being brought back unless he’s a malcontent.Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post
Excuse me….you said Hortiz makes all the player and coach decisions because it says so on his laminated job responsibilities he rolls up and slaps coaches with every time they question him.
So why did Hortiz get a better grade than Harbaugh when Roman and Bozeman were his fault? Should Harbaugh stick a laminated copy on every locker?

Yes....but some of our assistants are super young aren't they? Would be interesting to look at data and see if the age thing really is the driving factor of these ratings across the NFL. Also what are the questions they ask the players in this survey? Bad questions might not be a true reflection of how they feel. For instance, if they ask "Does you feel like your head coach is current on societal issues you face?" might give a guy like Harbaugh who is older, religious, devoted to his family, etc a low ratingOriginally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
