Karsen Barnhart from Paw Paw High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Barnhart opted to join Michigan.

In 2019 as a freshman Barnhart saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 13 snaps for the Wolverines. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.

As a sophomore in 2020 he played in 6 games and a total of 276 snaps. He conceded 6 QB hurries, one QB hit, and one sack while playing most of his snaps at left tackle.

In 2021 as a junior Barnhart saw action in 8 games and totaled 262 snaps. He gave up 4 QB hurries, one QB hit, and no sacks while playing the majority of his snaps at left guard, and the rest at left tackle.

In 2022 as a senior Barnhart saw action in 9 games and played a total of 561 snaps for the Wolverines. He allowed 7 QB hurries, one QB hit, and one sack while playing most of his snaps at right tackle.

You'll notice that @the end of the tape, he played his last 2 games (Alabama and Washington) Karsen was playing RG. Even when he was playing tackle... he had OG qualities and responsibilities.

It’s like the TPB mob doesn’t even know that OTHER Chargers had 3+ drops or had higher drop rates? Fuck, Ekeler dropped so many easy short screen lob passes that were practically handoffs that they had to stop throwing it to him. Just to help our friends out, here are Charger player drop rates from 2023, ordered by rate:

I don't see Jim being okay with Alt playing next to some UDFA at RG
I can see Joe bringing in a vet RG if one gets cut somewhere over a shinny new rookie.
Alt would be best served playing next to someone with more experience than even a Salyer.
Bozrman would be perfect if he wasn't needed for OC.

In the end, it will probably be Mike Devlin that advises Jim who to start along the OL. Devlin had some very young OL's when he coached in Houston. It will come down to who executes during training camp.

Pipkins has no experience @RG (college or pro). Salyer has only 1 year experience @RG.
Line them up... let them compete. UDFA is just a label... Jim already knows what Barnhart can do. 5 years of watching over.

Yeah, but if you keep playing those drops over and over again in your mind... 3 drops turns into 6 drops... then 9 drops... then... OMG! The sky is falling! Some are already convinced that he will never start... never be a "#1 WR"... as if that's what moves this particular offense...

The rule I really want changed is to allow all 53 people on the roster to be active for every game, along with an expanded IR.

I would eliminate the practice squad, it's humiliating for the players, especially the guys that have accrued more than 5 seasons in the NFL to make 20k a week is ridiculous considering what they are still putting their bodies thru...they are going to 18 games soon, make the roster 65 players and 55 can dress on Sundays, for the final ten roster spots make the minimum 10% lower than the regular minimum and eliminate the need to put them thru waivers or any such thing, BUT those final ten guys can be offered higher paying deals by another team with the current team having the opportunity to match or move them into the top 55 of their own rosters...

Meanwhile, Harbaugh keeps telling people what they are going to do and people believe him when it coincides with their beliefs.

Harbaugh said that he'll start the top 5 offensive linemen & that Pip is one of them ... meaning he has the inside track to starting at RG.

In an offense where everybody fed (Georgia)... Ladd averaged 40 receptions, 570 yards per season.
In an offense where everybody feeds (Harbaugh's Chargers)... I expect targets to be widespread.
