And Parham, although that was about it for him, in the red zone, he was a giant target.

Current WR group is simply to marginal in talent and depleted with injuries to withstand most of the season that’s still ahead of us with no more byes. More injuries are inevitable.

Make a serious offer Hortiz or you will regret it later.

We have Chark coming back, Fehoko has made some plays and we still have to see what B. Rice has to offer, so I just want to be careful with not taking snaps away from young potential.
In the games I watched this year, he does not look anywhere near how he looked here.

Again, the only "trenches" that are 1st round worthy are OT's. We have 2 great ones already.
Center is typically not worthy of a 1st round pick. This draft seems to have no centers that are worth a 1st round grade.
I was a huge proponent of Corey Linsley... who was indeed a free-agent pick-up.
I was also a huge proponent of Connor Williams... who will be a free-agent at season's end.
Will he be available...? No way to know at this point.
Will Kalil Mack be re-signed...? No way to know at this point.
Odds say that Joey Bosa won't be back... expensive and oft-injured.
If Mack and Bosa both walk/cut at season's end... then EDGE rusher seems like the obvious 1st round target.

          Play great defense

Thats the thing - physically how is he. Its been a year since the injury. If Chark isn't going to be back for a bit of time - Williams at the right price might be good. But compensation would be like a 6th for MW and a 7th or a 7th - something like that

Unless Bosa comes back and is really good - he is gone. The injury thing is just too big of a concern

as for the draft -- too early to focus on position. it is always about talent

                BPA for sure.
Way too early to focus on position. FA re-signs won't happen until February/March.
Looking at early-season prospect rankings... I don't see a center prospect.
I see DE's and CB's. Maybe a TE, WR, or DT. I am very much open to BPA.

Linsley, who I also liked, was a 5th rd pick Not long ago I ran down the draft position for all NFL starting centers. Round two had the biggest number but was not overwhelming.
In the 1st, I want BPA talent. I loved OG Quenton Nelson in his draft and would have cheerfully taken him in the 1st
I'm looking for standout talent with the 1st pick with very few limits on position..

Chark's 21 day practice window was opened this week and he is back at practice.

Yes, I agree….depends on his physical condition.

But, getting Chark back isn’t enough, IMO. Chark, Palmer, Johnston, and McConkey have all suffered various injuries and it’s only 5 games into a long season.

what are the chances they all stay healthy the rest of the season? Like 1 in 10 chance?

WR group needs reinforcement so I would try to get Williams if he’s physically fit.

I'd say need is moderate. Herbert completed passes to nine different players at Denver. I'd take Mike if he's both cheap and healthy.

Thanks for the update on Chark - I missed that note so appreciate it

MW does have familiarity with Herbert - so that would be a positive
It would take half the open cap space the team has.
Granted, the WR room even with Chark - who knows. Palmer is inconsistent, Ladd seems to get banged up every week.
Right price in terms of the cost to the Jets - might be good
Ask me on Monday night as 4-2 is a helluva lot different than 3-4
But you get by AZ, you get by NO - and are 5-2 - that right there would put me at buy mode
