very touching story, thanks for sharing. I grew up in a broken home single parent who was an alcoholic. not the same story but enough similar that I also know a lot of what you didn't write, I don't write it either. My mom died when I was 25 but I was functionally on my own for most things from the time I was about 12. which is way too young. Much of my early life errors, addictions and dysfunctions tie back to these experiences, which by grace of God I outgrew and overcame in time lest I could have taken myself down into the same dark hole. I'd be looked at as privileged now, but thats not the real story.Originally posted by Velo View PostI wasn't close to my dad. He was a closed, hard man, too be honest when he died when I was 15 I was ashamed of him, for his alcoholism, for some of things he did. But over the the 50 years since his death, my stance has softened, I understand better what made him the way he was, the sacrifices he made, he wasn't a hero, but he did do some heroic things when he was young, I just didn't understand what he had been through when I was 15. In 2017, on the 75th anniversary of his capture during the 1942 Dieppe Raid, I went to Dieppe. On a bulletin board of photos that German army photogs had shot after the battle, I found this pic. My dad is the one with his hands raised. His life as he knew it fell apart on that day. He was a newlywed (not my mother) and he had a child on the way who was born while he was a POW. I didn't know any of this when died. He kept it a secret from us.

I'd laugh if he came to the Arizona Cards along with MH2. I would actually start caring about the cardinals again like during the Warner days....Originally posted by Velo View PostGoodbye Mike. Thanks for the memories. Please sign with an NFC team.Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

In addition to his talent and the connection he was with Herbert, his locker room presence, his professionalism, his mentorship of young pass catchers, these things are immensely valuable to building the type of culture you want on your team.Originally posted by Fleet 1 View Post

Completely unlikely! The teams with most cap space are not in our division. NE and Titans maybe with the rest in the NFC. No team without a lot of cap space can risk this situation.Originally posted by Velo View PostMy biggest "fear" is Mike signing with a division rival. They are the teams who've been burned by him the most and are likely to what that mojo working for them. Though the Patriots were reportedly interested, though they weren't going to surrender a draft pick because they knew the Chargers were going to have to release him. I really do hope he signs with an NFC team.Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

they need one more big move today. I'd be shocked if it were releasing KA, shocked. for all you note and expectations for 2024. The only KA news I'd expect today is if they restructure/extend to get that remaining $8M cap relief they need by 1pm but I more likely expect the news will come from the Edge position.Originally posted by Velo View Post

Its an odd oxymoron that everyone wanted MW to be cut but many of the same then worry about where he'll go. Just to play devil's advocate, why wouldnt they want a rival to be stuck with a big MW contract and then watch him go on IR? Thats the overwhelming prediction if he stayed here, isn't it?Originally posted by gzubeck View Post
