today's teaams with the top WR's do not make it to SB.....
Did those teams have a very good defense? I think KC had Tyrick hill in the Super Bowl wins. A good TE helps…but I think Brady and Mahomes are much better than Herbert.

We can also agree coaching is makes a big difference….I remember losing to NE because our Kicker froze in PO, our coach changed MO, our defense did not go down after an interception.

What are Chargers going to do with the $35 million they have in FA. Are they sure they want to keep Bosa with his injury history

        SB Chargers

WR Shawn Jefferson 9th round * we already have a 1st, 3rd and 4th rounder and now we have to spend a top five on wideout
        WR Tony Martin 5th round

DE Chris Mims 11 sacks (1st round) * they had good bookend DEs.... we have good bookend DEs
DT Shawn Lee 6.5 sacks * we could use an IDL disruptor/pass rusher.... @23 ?? Byron Murphy/Jer'Zhan Newton @37 Braden Fiske ??
        DE Leslie O'Neal 12.5 sacks (8th overall)

        + John Parella 2nd round

TE Alfred Pupunu/Duane Young 38 catches for 431 yards 3 TDs between the two of them * are you gonna say if they had a talent @TE they woulda beat SF

RB Natrone Means 1350 yards 12 TDs 39 catches 235 yards receiving
RB Ronnie Harmon 1st round * how high are we gonna go for an RB, not to mention a backup RB ?? !!

        + Eric Beinemy 2nd round

RT Stan Brock 12th overall * trade down to 11th overall for an RT ?? !!
OC Courtney Hall 37th overall * do we nab our OC @37 as we!! ??

save for LT, most of the rest of the Oline were second/third rounders

LB Jr. Seau 5th overall * is this year's five overall closer to Jr./LT, or.... Jammer ?? (personally don't think any of the pass catchers are going to be top five talents.... more like top ten talents @their position ?)

CB Darrien Gordon (don't recall him so much) 22nd overall * do we go corner @23 ??

(the more things change.... the more they stay the same)

New England won 3 Superbowls before Gronk entered the league and the Chargers and Chiefs won 0 with Gates and Gonzalez.

Nonsense. Fantasy football has nothing to do with how teams stock their rosters and pay players. Brady/Belichick and Mahomes/Reid have warped peoples minds about the value of WRs. The Eagles and 49ers, last 2 NFC Super Bowl teams, have dominant WRs. Ravens have 2 first round picks at WR and went out and added Beckham. Miami's resurgence is tied to an excellent receiving core and maybe the best guy in the game. Rams bounced back immediately because they hit gold with Nacua to pair with MVP Kupp. Green Bay is relevant again because they stocked up on WRs. I could go on

The 2015 Broncos had two 1,000-yard receivers (Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders), but everyone knows they won with defense.
Indy, New Orleans, Giants, Baltimore, Seattle, Denver, Philadelphia, Tampa (toothless Gronk), Los Angeles.

9 of the last non Patriot - Mahomes Super Bowl winners.

Zach Ertz was the only pro bowl tight end in that group - and I think he missed two playoff games that year.

Seattle did not have much at wide receiver, either--no one had 1,000 yards. They won with defense. The Giants had Plaxico Burress and Hakeem Nicks/Victor Cruz during their Super Bowl years, but their defensive line punished multiple Pro Bowl and Hall of Fame quarterbacks, four of whom were MVPs (Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Tom Brady), in those two postseason runs. That was the biggest factor. The Buccaneers dominated a Chiefs team that had a Pop Warner offensive line playing. I throw that Super Bowl out the window.

Brady had Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, and Wes Welker in 2007 and didn't win. Aside from Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in Tampa Bay, Brady won his Super Bowls with wide receivers who weren't close to being in the top ten in the NFL.

The 2007 Pats are the best team not to win a Super Bowl. They were 18-0 and lost that final game. Who was the Giants DC? Steve Spagnuolo. That dude doesn't get enough credit.

Call me a homer if you want, but I fully believe we would have beaten them if Rivers and Tomlinson hadn't been injured--and we would have won the Super Bowl.

2096 was really the year. But losing LT and Gates being hobbled was a killer. They wore down from the pressure of going undefeated. Don't forget they smoked us early in the season with LT and Rivers both healthy
