Herbert is great but he is not a QB you fear having the ball late in the game because he is going to take over like Elway, Manning, Mahomes, Brady etc do or did. Rivers was the same way. I am sure there are a lot of reasons and factors and not all are directly attributable to Rivers and Herbert, but the results are the results. Harris did say he thinks Herbert has it in him, just needs to be unlocked.

with Rivers, you could see the delay of game penalty building with each play he ran. 2-minute drill was never his strong suit. i loved him, but that flustered delay of game penalty was always coming.

We forgot that he worked his ass off only to put the team ahead the 1st time and now the team is asking him to do it again with less than 2 mins. I think some people have unrealistic expectations for Herbert or QBs for that matter. I mean every now and then you need a defense to make a stop or a RB to make a 1st down on 3rd and short. Blaming it all on Herbert is not fair and not warranted. Herbert is clutch, the rest of the team in the past not so much.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

Lately, he's not getting it done.
Hard to bring teams back when you cannot score in the 2nd half of games and your defense is a joke. Is that on Herbert or the former coaching staff.

Of course Mahomes has playoff wins and Super Bowls. He also has had 6 very stable years in the same offence with a great coach Andy Reid. Herbert has never had a good coach and has had to learn 4 offences with 3 OCs in 4 years...not to mention no defence, Herbert is 22-6 when the Chargers defence allows 28 points or less...no run game....and since 2020 Herbert has been pressured the 2nd most in the NFL.
Yet despite all these obstacles Herbert has had a historical statistical start to his NFL career. I get that Herbert needs some big wins to cement his legacy but he is still only 26. All the media attacks and calling him out for not being a winner is way off base.

Team = Owner, Coaches, Coaches Assts, Trainers (injury of lack thereof), Players.
Why focus on ONE player? Laughable, Silly (even if it is ONE leadership position).
Other leadership positions are Ownership, GM, HC. Let's see what JH can do with those upgrades. (The Spanoses have upgraded their beliefs. TT is gone. We have a BETTER GM. Now we have a true HC.) That HC believes in JH so much. Plus, he brought in great assistants. The GM has brought in NEW players.
Chris Harris: Why dont you look at that? Seems you would make a horrible football decision maker, poor football analyst, poor chess player because you don't look at variables etc....Somebody get this letter to him/his platforms he used. You have my okay to copy and paste.

I think Chris Harris Jr's statement is based on an incomplete and lazy assessment thrown carelessly like the proverbial "Shit on the wall to see what sticks."
The least he could have done is acknowledge 1 of the multiple circumstances unique to Herbert that other supported QBs don't have to deal with.
Put ANY other "clutch" QB in his shoes and see how clutch they are with no run game, shit defense and Lynn and Staley as their HCs...
Herbert's throw to Williams vs Titans doesn't count apparently. His mutiple 4th down conversations vs turds before Staley took the ball out of his hands, that doesn't count either I suppose.
oh but thanks for the condescending, "he has it in him" throw-away line. A shit attempt to walk-back your thoughtless criticism.
Pathetic.
Never should have hired this Denver trash. Once a Denver Ass...
With no due respect CH2, fuck off, you washed up has-been with sour grapes for balls, take your morsel of relevance and watch Herbert sweep yours Donks in 2024.
