Barring any kind of injury or setback I think that Trey has already been pencilled in as the starting RG and yes, like I said, Trey is in a great position to help and support Alt having played RT himself...

I guess for Salyer you make an exception (pipkins fucking sucked right?) so all that happened in 2023 on tape is just an aberration...I never said there was anything wrong with the way he's built, the way he's built is probably the reason why he's gotten away with not putting in maximum effort to get in the best shape possible, I expect more from him because there is so much potential there but I think I finally understand why he fell in the draft so much, but he's for sure built the way you want an interior O-linemen to be built, I would just like to see what his potential would be if he got in shape...his agility and his stamina would improve, nothing wrong with his strength, the guy just needs to shed like 20-25 pounds of fat and work on his diet and cardio? the only other Charger O-linemen whose been out of shape on the roster like this is Jaimes and if Jaimes was built like Salyer or had the potential that Salyer has then maybe he'd have been starting the last few years too...

If you are talking about Brenden Jaimes OT he had a shuttle score of score of 9.35 and a 3-cone score of 8.82. Both of those are elite scores. The only reason his RAS score was not higher is because of his height and weight. Those were compared to other OTs which drastically lowered his scores. Interestingly, if you plug his heigh and weigh along with the rest of scores for Centers his RAS score is elevated to elite. Why am I bringing this up? Jaimes has been running with the 2's @ Center. I think he will be the back-up center at the start of the year.

Brenden came in as a rookie in fantastic shape, all the training for the draft and he looked good like he was putting in the time in the gym at the time, then in years 2 and 3 he looked flabby and out of shape, what difference does his RAS make? he hasn't looked like he's been putting in the time training to improve his strength, agility, and endurance...is there any question that he hasn't done much up to this point? he was a 5th rounder so some might say that not much was expected to begin with but Trey Smith from Tennessee was sitting right there during that draft and I about lost my shit when they took Jaimes instead, Smith has now started at RG on two Super Bowl winning teams for the Chiefs...I'm not disappointed in Jaimes because he was a high round pick, I'm dissapointed in him because he has untapped potential that for some reason he hasn't physically looked like he's spent the time in the gym working to unlock...this current coaching staff seems to like him and hopefully they will be able to unlock that potential, we'll see...

• Pipkins feet are nothing like Flukers. That is a horrible comparison. PipLongStockings are much better than Flukerboats
• Pipkins has the inside track for starting RG and is in the clear lead. It’s not locked but they are not focusing on him because they expect he’s worse. 2024 LAC coaches don’t play those games, you’re thinking of a different staff
• Pipkins is the more athletic of the RG options. Haters gonna hate, just go back to his 2022 tape and you will see it. Fact is he played better than Salyer last year, he’s shown more in OTAs, and he worked his ass off to continue to improve.
• Salyer is strong fave for #1 swing off the bench.
• Barnhart ain’t coming in and beating both Pipkins and Salyer for a starting job. Ain’t happening, no way. its 50/50 he’s on the roster as deep backup
• Sarrell sucks. I don’t care if he went to cookouts at Greg’s house and drove his kids to school, he ain’t beating out Pip or Sal, but he could survive over Barnhart. If you guys didn’t see his limited but catastrophic 2023 work, go back and watch it again. It’s also on the tape.

I’m actually more interested to see how much Zion transformed this off season. Dude is a monster now.

My #1 OL interest is how well they perform as a group. Them and the auxiliary blockers.
Basically make holes for the RBs, protect the QB.
Clearly we need to make good choices for depth and development but it's the coaching staff I have the most faith in.
No doubt you caught the exchange between G-Ro and Zion about kicking ass. I expect that we will more often than not.
It's how the Chargers 2024 OL has been built and trained.

You may be right,.....but since they have not starting hitting, or tackling or any real blocking or had any real practices as far as anything close to TC, I won't assume anything.

I always root for home grown guys to succeed, just like with Pipkins I'll be the first to change my tune about Jaimes if he puts in the work to get the most out of his potential, Harbaugh has been quoted as saying that he would start 5 tackles if he could,...well, if the new staff likes Jaimes enough to keep around going forward it tells me that they think they can unlock something in him we haven't seen up until now...

I don't agree with this at all, this phase is critical for installing all the new stuff that they will be doing in the coming season, right now the guys that are getting looked at the most are the ones that are showing that they grasp the new concepts best and those same guys should have a head start heading into training camp...
