Palmer hasn't put up the contributions we all expected before season started. I agree with that. none of them really have - they've only really "passed the ball" the last 2 games. Ladd is coming on hot but he has to do it for more than one game. (I was a big Ladd fan before the draft, love we selected him)

Q looks much better this year imo but he's got to get on the field and start putting up stats too. I am seeing the confidence grow back in the young man, I see good things from him

I'm not yet at the "Palmer sucks, horrible failure" stage yet - but I never thought he was a #1 to begin with. He was always a 3rd rd pick to me, so maybe its just my perspective is different.

Absolutely, and as always points of view get skewed... I never expected Palmer to be more than a WR2 but at the same time I'm shocked by his current level of contribution. I hope for an improvement but don't see it, we'll have Chark and QJ back this week so the team will be fine. Herbert will have alot of options to distribute the ball...

Because, I don't see him regressing. I see him again dinged up. He has played pretty good when he has been targeted.

Perhaps yes but he has the 2nd most receptions of our recievers, (not including TE or RBs for which Dissley and Dobbins have more) and tied for second of our recievers with targets. He has 1 more reception than QJ with the same targets though QJ has 3 TDs.
Leads the team with a 16.2 YPC. Dissley has 23 receptions which....i just wish we had a better TE for that role as Hurst has only 6 and Dobbins has 19 but only a 4.6 YPC.

As we go forward, the passing game should get better. Its been a slow start so far but the run game was working, it isnt working as well now.

I'm with you on that one. Maybe I was just hoping he could step into KA's shoes, and the shoes are just too big.

He does seem to disappear for a few quarters at a time. I've never analyzed it any further than that, just my perception.

Give Herbert a legit #1 and this offense soars and everybody else gets even better. Probably not going to happen this year I know but I’m not banking on any breakouts at this point.

agree with this. Herbert needs more than what we've got, but we knew that going into this season. we are lucky to have Herbert, we need to invest around him (O-line and receivers).


Regarding the breakouts:

QJ - showing some improvement, then got hurt. hopefully he can stay healthy the rest of the way and we have a better idea of what we've got long-term.
Palmer - same old guy. not bad, but not great.
Ladd - looking great, but would be ideal as a #2 or #1B, if we can't find a clear #1. new guy 1A, Ladd 1B, improved QJ as solid #2 ???
Chark - glass joe
Rice - total question mark.

TE - that is a whole other discussion, but definitely a piece to the puzzle.

Lacking explosion, he was always a high floor / low ceiling type receiver ..... picked when the Chargers had greater needs.
And for that reason, only if Palmer turned into a legit #2 receiver could the s******** have been justified.

So, at the end of the day, another bad s******** by TT...... mitigated by the fact that if not Palmer, TT would have drafted another 3rd round dud.

QJ and Ladd will be 1A 1B soon
