Does anybody still opposed to pursuing Tee Higgins next year?

Id love to have Higgins, I just don't think we will pursue a 25 mil a year reciever. Has nothing to do with Higgins. I just think the OL will take priority. But if we do and we get him, that would be great.

I have read that Burrow said he would redo his contact and take less money to pitch in and keep him, so there's that as well. No idea of their cap space.

I think they roll with Zion at LG for 1 more year. 4.7m is not much for a starting olineman (Pipkins is gone). Zion's play should improve if he has a quality center playing next to him and a competent RG, so I see them adding 2 IOL and receiver help (WR and TE) in FA, and filling in with the draft.

Chase is due $21M salary, guaranteed, and then he’s FA at the end of year. i like Higgins a lot but not more than Chase. Its tough for a team to hold on to two elite WRs forever in the cap world. We’ll see. Higgins is a really really good receiver, he showed today what I’ve seen in many Bengal games. I would love to have him but I doubt JH2 will spend what it takes to get him, there will be multiple suitors.

They can, they just face a similar choice to Joe - do they devote $25M+ to a second elite WR at the cost of not spending it elsewhere. They are at 8 losses with Burrow having a career year of offensive production. They are at like 5th in O pts scored and 27th in D points allowed. They may decide all O and no D isn’t getting them to the last dance. Who knows eh?

That is the key point - they could squeeze him in, but that defense is horrible and needs a lot of work.

My guess - you are correct. But they have the cap space to make things works. But they should improve the defense with the money if they can.

Chargers will have a lot of cap space if they release Bosa and Pipkins. They could afford Higgins and a player like Trey Smith

On Higgins, it depends on how much Burrow will give up on his deal, if they want to keep both Chase and Higgins. I'd love to get him, but I think some deal will get done, or worse, he goes to another AFCW team.

Higgins and Trey Smith are the top two free agents on the free agency list, I would be shocked if we signed either, let alone both of the them.

Slater is likely going to be re-signed this offseason, so he is going to be a big hit to the cap. His cap hit in 2025 is $19mil.
