Yep...ALL those years in the early 2000's when the Boys were losers...but they still got to play on Thanksgiving because they're allegedly "America's Team"...yep, and Madden salivating about guys like Larry Allen..."that's what football's all about...BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! Those guys in the trenches get all muddy and dirty, throwing those blocks...YEAH! That's what football is all about! If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch!!!"Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View Post
And the OTHER Thanksgiving Day game-- the one in Dallas, where every year we got to hear John Madden blather on about his 'Turducken', like a guy who had just huffed airplane glue out of a paper bag.

Madden was on an NFL broadcast weekly the entire season for 30 years. He was infamous for his Madden Bus that he drove from city to city each week, taking days to get from stadium to stadium because he was afraid to fly. His bus was famous, and was often where the fabled turducken rested prior to being brought out for presentation.Originally posted by Topcat View Post

He was the same in all games that he broadcast. I'm not clear why folks are fluffed up about his Thanksgiving games in particular. It appears to just be a Dallas hate, which I totally get (I hate them more), but whats that got to do with Madden? It can't be about a turducken, can it? what is wrong with a turducken, they are delicious! only a commie would hate a turducken

It gets sidetracked every now and then. This is a dry spell in Chargers organized activity. I've participated in a FB discussion that is going nowhere until training camp gets underway. Best wishes.Originally posted by sdchrgrboy View PostSilly me, I came in here looking for 2025 Chargers official news, acquisitions, transactions and Injuries.

that FB discussion is the best thread-within-a-thread this week, and you've been a key contributor. don't sell yourself short on that oneOriginally posted by sonorajim View Post

His life story is going to be a movie with Nicolas Cage as John Madden and Christian Bale as Al Davis.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post
I grew to love his annual turducken presentation. John Madden was a national treasure imo.

If I remember correctly, John Madden's turducken had 8 legs. Definitely entertaining.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

lol, it definitely had too many legs. 6 would make sense (2 for each bird) but I'll accept your 8 as I can't remember.Originally posted by NashBolt View Post

Yep, need to go read BoltBeat if you want news.......of course it's all dumb articles about nothing.Originally posted by DerwinBosa View Post
Ah, yes, because there's been so much going on between minicamp and training camp to discuss.
Saw the kid write an article about how Chargers former draft target WR Jalen Hyatt isn't doing well in NY lol
.
When was it ever said he was a target of ours?......aside from some fans liked him. Maybe Jason Reed liked him lol. Still bad journalism, again!
