Even if DJ does experience a renaissance under the new regime, do you think he is capable of playing at a level to justify his contract?

I'm not sure he's worth 12.75 mil (2024) - what's the going rate for good (not great) safety's? He MIGHT be a decent risk for a 2 year extension if there's an expectation in the building that he rebounds under Harbaugh. That would take him to 30 yo and spread out his cap hit in 2024 . . . . . . . . . . something to think about anyway.

The big name RBs aren’t being franchised this year. The price to sign one should be reasonable since there is good supply.

Spend on OLine , IDL and LB.

Pretty misleading - Chargers have 22 signed players. Linsley would make it 21 but they would get back some cash
so doesn't include two draft classes (24 and 25)
and the rest of the roster - so another 20 or so players at the minimum level

The money will go fast...So pretty much starting at 125 Linsley retires
if you sign Allen to a multi year deal - subtract 20+ maybe 25m
i you sign Mack longer term - that is another 20- 25
Slater Palmer and Samuel are free agents so not listed - how much is that - another 20m for all three - maybe 15m
two draft classes plus the 53 player roster - another 40m

- you are down to what:
25-30m left over - and that doesn't include players you might sign this year to multi year deals

It sounds like Bosa might be here to stay and Mack is on the trading block. Maybe they turn Bosa’s health around this year and gets back to his dominant self, then they trade him for a higher draft pick next year.

Derwin is 27 and has 3 years on his current contract. Extend him 2 more, which should save us some cap, not sure how much..... and it takes him to 32 years old.

I'm pretty certain Derwin will be much better under Minter.

Just this year. Unless we decide to push things forward again. It’s why if we can clear up the cap situation this year without compromising our future years, we can continue being competitive now and in the future.
