Hindsight is a "B" but maybe should of just stuck with the plan to sign Linderbaum? Our center hurts his same knee. Hard to imagine him back this season.

Tho if we had Linderbaum this same guard is probably throwing players at his knees. Big sigh!

Hope Slaughter is the real deal! We need some OG's

As of now, we have 2 certain players out of the projected 53 who have some major question marks and they both happen to be on the OL. Rashawn Slater is a question mark possibly for several more weeks and Tyler Biadasz is most likely just out. I am sure that OL coach Berry, OC McD and HC Harbaugh are all deflated but it is Jim who has the dubious honor of stepping up to the mic on such a day.
Yep last season early on Slater and Alt....

Now like a repeating nightmare Slater & Tyler.

Year after year our fan base predicts Super Bowl appearances right after the draft.
        Then comes training camp.
2025 Slater signs a contract.....out for the season
2026 Biadasz signs a contract.....out for the season (likely)
In this case it was Awosikas fault

Get rid of the darn preseason games and team scrimmages. this is just time for fearful prospects playing dangerously to make the team.

Have your own training camp, then start the season, ready or not.

The Chargers Injured Reserve list is historically SOLD OUT by the end of October.....moving towards the start of the season.

I know that Money and Lo are both more of homers than not but listening to their podcast from today, they sounded very positive about Slater (himself) being very confident of playing in this first Sep game hosting AZ.

Hortiz just needs to keep building the Oline and bringing in legit players! Enough of the back up Detroit OG's and journeyman Olineman to compete for starting roles.

So far looking at Slaughter and Travis, and Branson, and the two OG's we drafted in the late rounds, Hortiz seems to be getting on track. Just keep building with the right kind of players.

I feel you on that and hope it's true. But let's face it we're all going to be on pins and needles every play with Slater this season. I just hope our oline jells and the players we have just man up and turn the corner and develop into a solid group, with the next man up attitude.

Because these last few years they've seemed like such a fragile group!

Just an additional tidbit, Money and Lo also referred to Slater at Center! I don't recall who Money was quoting but according to that source, Rashawn Slater could be the best Center in the entire league!

I know, I know, separate times and separate measures 🤣

Yes I think Money said that Slater told him the plan is to rest up and be ready for game 1, that Slater said he could play now if it was a real game.

The guys on the GAC podcast from last night said they were told Slater would be back by the end of the week. Thats enough for me. I don't need him to practice - I just want him healthy.. Well of course a little practice is needed.

Opinions are found. inside a really big tent.

Ha ! McAfee saw the play better in Indianapolis than Matt Smith did from ten feet away IMHO.

I know that almost all blame Kayode.
                        Popper doesn't.
It is stark how much of the criticism involves characterization or labeling of his alleged motives.

I will put it this way. What was Valdez doing on this play ? Was he close to getting a QB hurry ? No. What he was supposed to be doing in this situation is getting his work in while doing so with movements that don't tend to cause injury.

"Ones against Threes" mean that there is huge divergence in skill levels, athleticism, strength, competence...

Over the years there has been plenty of discussion by numerous experienced NFL experts on this folly, thus we have "Thud Tempo."

Most of the comments are knee jerk and shallow.

Throwing around terms like "spatial awareness" re Kayode while not mentioning "balance-anchor" re Valdez is selective analysis.
Not certain where you are going with this wu-dai.

I just thought that it was it was a pointless and stupid act by Awosika, that Valdez was not at fault - not wanting to go into that direction in the first place,
and that Kayode should have known, however unlikely it might be, that there was some risk of this happening.
Do that same thing 30 times and you are going to cause some damage to someone.

No one so far has convinced me otherwise. We can agree to disagree
