and of course my assumption is that it's a swap of firsts and not a future first rounder....

This is what NBC sports wrote about another TT pick, Ken Murray, released and signed by TEN too lolOriginally posted by Topcat View Post
Well, TT just signed Christian Wilkins to that monster $110 mil deal...with a whopping $84 mil GUARANTEED! So TT is right back at it with the bloated contracts...how soon before the Raiders hit cap hell? How soon before Wilkins pulls a Moaning Mel and wants out of his deal? How soon before TT packages a 2nd and 4th rounder to move up to the end of round 1 to pick a mediocre Golden Domer? Inquiring minds want to know...

Another first-round Chargers bust, Murray had his fifth-year team option declined last spring before going on to have a shaky 2023, albeit one where he played every snap. Headed into his age-26 campaign, Murray can at least absorb snaps for a Titans defense undergoing a ton of transition this offseason.
Murray could have trouble remaining a three-down player if he doesn’t soon improve against the run.

Yeah, the following cartoons with dialog certainly make it seem that way.Originally posted by Berserker76 View PostIt's fake, time to move on.
Plus, trading a future 1st rounder for a guy that is about to break-the-bank doesn't sound like Hortiz.Protect the QB

These are delicate negotiations.
The idea of waiving all four is not far fetched. It would give the players the option of coming back on cheaper contracts, or seeing what else is out there.
We want motivated Charger players--those who want to be here. Is chasing a ring in Powder Blue an appealing goal ?
I am having a very difficult time envisioning any team trading now. Surprise us Joe.LomuG/T HechtC/G CrawfordER EndriesTE Gill-Howard4i/DE 3.19.26

All sophisticated American men of style and taste are bourbon guys now. small batch bourbon is the new scotch + microbrew craze combined, alas some unsophisticated men of silliness are falling into our club from time to time but they tend to not last long. coincidentally, I’m a bourbon guy. my puppy’s name is Rye. I’ve got nothing left to prove on this good earthOriginally posted by Charge! View Post
yes, but I get the sense he is a bourbon guy! lol
I don’t believe JH2 are giving up a #1 draft pick for a high priced WR on the last year of his contract who will expect the top next contract in the league when they can draft a low priced superstar WR with their #5 pick for 20% of that cost thats locked in for 5 yrs. Just my guess, it’s what sophisticated men of bourbon would do.
JJ for 2025 #1 is NOT what Men of Baltimore do - they don’t buy high like that. Now if it were swap 2024 #1s and swap MW for JJ - thats a deal I’m quite good with. JJ will discover the joy of catching passes from Our Golden God.
I’m calling this a wild rumor until they shock me and validate it.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Should they wish to retain any of the big four, the Chargers side has to walk a fine line. It is difficult to not upset a players pride, while their agent is playing the leverage card.
That is what makes the negotiation "delicate". It is a football decision, that cannot help but have some emotion involved.

The only move I would have a hard time with is moving on from KA.
His chemistry with Herbert is real and he played in San Diego.
Keep him!
