Literally every tackle in every draft, except for the top few, always have the same type of blurb in their write ups. "Probably better at guard at the next level" or something like that. Guards can be had because we have too many pressing needs for round 2-3 skills than guard IMHO.Originally posted by Topcat View Post
I was thinking the same thing...primarily a C in rounds 3-4 who can also play G for depth...I'd still like us to get a real G in rounds 2-3 if possible...

Transitioning from T to G doesn't work lots of times...I'd rather draft a G and keep him at G...and yes, maybe some decent ones can be had in the middle rounds...Originally posted by La Costa Boy View Post

Really? OG was maybe the worst graded position on the team last season. I know a change of coaches should help, but can’t see how upgrading the talent at the position isn’t a priority.Originally posted by La Costa Boy View Post

My thought was, not unheard of a team to draft a center but play him at guard his rookie year, then transition him to calling the shots. Seems we find such a player, could easily challenge at OG this year (freeing Salyer to take over at RT 😉). Good for immediate needs, good for the future.

I like Fulton and he’s a good player when healthy. He always seems to be dinged up. But, in Ben Herbert I trust to fix that.Originally posted by blueman View PostAlso: if both sides like what they hear tonight, we’ll have a new CB1 tomorrow. 😎
I would love if they kicked the tires on CB Howard and see what he’s looking for. He won’t count against the comp picks either.

You're aware of how seldom Quacksaw ever got anything correctly, right?Originally posted by Maniaque 6 View PostBradley Bozeman, Bozely Bradman.
Is it the same player ?
Quacksaw was like the dog who barked his head off, even though no one rang the doorbell. You end up yelling at the dog, like, "STFU! I can't get anything done around here with your constant baying!"

Salyer was the worst. Oddly since he was good- very good at LT as a rookie. Zion was a 1st rd pick that played well at RG-so Moore moved him. Not so good. Clapp was a huge step down from Linsley as was Moore from Lombardi.Originally posted by blueman View Post

Interior OL was a clusterf**k. Leadership, position experience and coaching absent, it was every man for himself. You may have noticed the change in coaching staff that took place before season's end. I hope to never see that again.
We have a new C and HC, OC, OL coaches (among others). OTAs will shed some light on OL situation. I wouldn't grade the OG talent on last year's performance. But, maybe that's just me.

Totally agree. I think both Salyer and Zion are much better than that, Clapp was no help and they were in the wrong spots anyway IMHO. But if Salyer slides back to tackle, that opens up competition at OG with McFadden, can totally see a draft pick competing to start.Originally posted by sonorajim View Post
