Cool! Which four guys did you have in mind?Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Maybe you sacrifice one Khalil Mack to fill three or four holes on the defense. Individually, the one player won't be better than mack. But collectively - they might be better than Mack + SJD + Murray + Taylor or Gilman
Just because you don't pay Khalil Mack - doesn't mean you can't pay other players. My concern with Mack as players decline as they age. He had a tremendous 2023 - but thats in the past. Have to think how he will be in 2024 and beyond. Not sure he is worth signing to the same contract he signed when he was 27 and not 33
Lastly, the team is 5-12. They haven't won a division in 15 years. As I said, they might have kept Rivers too long. Whatever it takes - -if that means blowing up the roster - I am fine with it.

Agree. Don’t believe making a hole at EDGE helps any. We certainly won’t have top 3 EDGE production without Mack.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Need to see a list of free agents once franchise tags have been put in place.
If Mack is back or not - they need to upgrade the interior DL and really fix LB. Front 7 is a weakness

he has a knack for creating timely turnovers, some of that is instinct but a lot of that is dedication thru film study...he's a solid guy that I wouldn't mind seeing on the team going forward but with so much already invested at safety in both DJ and a 3rd for JT Woods, I wonder if Gillman is even being considered as a guy to bring back due to cap issues...Originally posted by Lefty2SLO View Post
I must have missed the memo . . . . . . . I hope we can keep him. He was the most solid guy we had on the back end last year . . . . ."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. That said - Horitz just can't ignore the position in free agency. All things equal, I do think Alohi had a good solid year and really improved from year 1 to year 4. But if they can upgrade the position -- do it

I think what I am really looking forward too are the moves Horitz makes. And I don't mean just the bigger moves especially with the four contracts. But even minor moves. Do he look at the guys signed to futures contracts and decides - you know Max Duggan, thanks but no thanks.
So its just not the higher end moves - its filling out the back 30 of the roster

Other than hoping they can somehow keep Mack, not really tied to any draft or FA agenda, just looking forward to Harbaugh and Horitz turning this franchise around, and however they do it I’m gonna love it.

Im not that high on Gus but i do really like Jaylen Wright. Dude has some wheels at listed 210 lbs. If they could add a 4th, that would be nice too. Gus adds near zero to the pass game as a reciever but he is a bigger guy.Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View PostI would be happy with a RB room that looked like this. I would really like to see Spiller take that next step. I think he can in this style of offense. He can run and catch out of the backfield. If he can do it, Harbaugh will get it out of him
Gus Edwards- Ground and Pound
Isaiah Spiller- All around
Jaylen Wright- Skat/Speed

Rather go Estime and Bralon in the draft for a one two punch.Possibly keep Spiller or Kelly as a 3rd back.
