Draft Keenan with pick 76..ride him hard for many years....then flip him for pick 110? Just use that pick on a value WR and do it all over again. I love Keenan. But we were going to get younger at the position and cut costs going forward. Its time to get WRs on rookie contracts again. Aging WRs making 20M plus a season are not great for a team rebuilding a totally new identity. I suspect we look to the draft for WRs...but also sort of think we build from the inside out. Move back and grab picks. Probably target OL.

I dont mind a Fuaga/Edwards combo if we made that trade to the Vikes. I really like Brian Edwards

I think Hortiz is intent on acquiring draft picks. Vibe im getting. However Nabers or Odunze make perfect sense at 5 or 6 if we trade with the Giants.

he loves his money, so does his professional stylist wife, more power to them and theirs, but if you had a conversation with Jim and that DIDNT inspire you to want to stay and be a Chargers LEGEND, then I can confidently say we're better off long term.
      100% not this.

Jim inspiration … lol … he’s a grown ass man, he, does this for a living, not for inspirational hype. He’s been there done that. He likely has a couple more years getting paid and its gone.

“Loves his money”. Nobody ever will tell me to work at a place for less money than I’m worth or can get elsewhere, just for the honor or thrill of being part of that company. Same thing here - None of us have any place judging him for wanting to be paid what his contract says and what the market says he’s worth. Just as teams cut and trade players, players have their contract rights too. Taking pay cuts to be a LEGEND is almost contradictory.

I get why they asked him to take a cut. I get why he said naw. Nobody at fault here and no reason to talk shit about him. Definitely no call to talk shit about a man’s wife. The business relationship ended, thats ok - they all do at some point.

I wish him all the best and thank him for his time here.

I remember his first year, before he even got to first camp, and he was caught wearing a Raider hat. Lol … he was always his own guy, lol. He was also a very good team member 100% his entire time here. He worked like a pro, played like a pro, did his business and never got in any trouble, if thats brat then god bless, we could use more of them.

Also a fresh start with a potential star top 5 WR deep threat has more value as a whole in Roman's O!
Didn't have to be one or the other. Keenan would have opened it up for an explosive guy. Who ya gonna double? Palmer and QJ don't do that. We'll see who they draft. Roman's offense hasn't featured star receivers who are deep threats. If possession is the name of the game a dependable route runner makes more sense.

ask yourself how valuable the aging Kelce is to the Chiefs

Only time before he becomes a Raider.
TT will put together a polite group of guys.
My take is that Stick was probably brought back because he’s a cheap option, has a good relationship with Herbert, and could probably manage a few wins if Herbert misses some time under Roman’s scheme and with Harbaugh’s coaching. We’re obviously not making it far if Herbert is on IR again though, regardless of whoever is QB2.

Chiefs also traded away Hill and had a great defense last year. So it is what it is.

I kind of have a problem with some posters talking shit about him, and his wife, to help them deal with the business realignment. its not cool, he doesn’t deserve shit, he didn’t fail to honor or perform any contract or conditions of employment. he served this franchise professionally at an elite level for a decade, he never got in trouble, or created locker problems, or did one thing I know of except be one of the best chargers ever. He deserves respect as this business relationship ends. He earned it.

Re Perryman and his tackles 5 yards past the LOS:

Somebody remind me who was playing in front of him? Cuz I remember on a lot of those tackles, he was fighting off OL cuz the DL had sat them on their asses.

But you are correct, he was overused last season due to MW being out and no running game. So I'm sure the Chargers did not want to pay market rate for a receiver when the intention is to use him less. We'll see how that works out.

one thing to mention is that the Chargers were asking him to come back at a reduced rate so it wasn't that need all the cap space they just wanted some and I'm sure they had the Bosa and Mack balls up in the air at the same time.

in any case follow the yellow brick road. Pretty soon you'll reach the wizard.
Mack and Bosa had already been dealt with, as had Williams.

Forget the word ALL. They needed to save some money. The bottom line is, they likely have no more than ~$28-$29M free agency cap-space to work with (after other considerations) AFTER saving $23.1M in cap space, by trading him. We have a lot of holes to fill. Not sure his pay cut wouldn’t have been more significant than the other two. I originally thought it would be less than Bosa and Mack, but not with ~$5-$6M to work with. Either way, his choice.

I won’t follow the yellow-brick road because the wizard wasn’t real. The fact is, most things aren’t real. I’ll leave it at that here.

So would every GM. You didn’t see Telesco trade for him, either.
