Joe will do his best in the comp game, better than TT ever did, but the real game is to build a roster that can win games., not win the King of Comp Picks crown
    Correctamundo!

Players that are released are usually higher cost, older and on the downside of careers (e.g. Joeys Bosa).

Its fine if you can find a good player that is released - but give me the better player. Especially this year - Chargers are building something

The issue with free agency this year is that it's just not a good class, there are a couple of guys that may or may not even reach free agency, Higgins and Trey Smith I think are the Crown Jewels if they make it to the market but otherwise it's going to take teams cutting guys and about 15 teams this offseason are going to have to make a few cuts and not all of them are going to be washed up guys, ten NFL teams are in the red and the other 5 are between 2-22mil from the red giving those teams little space to maneuver in the offseason and during the season if they don't make a move here or there...

I'm confident that Hortiz will continue filling holes on the roster with better players, I have not doubt about that...I think it's important for folks to keep and open mind when FA kicks off, it might not be the buying frenzy people expect...

Yes. IMV now is not the time to win the bidding wars that are about to happen.

Or to even get involved in them.

MAYBE one splash signing, but not at the top of the market.

Then probably wait and see what the draft produces.

Chargers are losing safeties coach Chris O'leary to become the new DC @ Western Michigan. This is going to hurt. He was instrumental in getting the safeties up to speed and getting Molden up to speed early on. Curious to see they replace him with.
          My final Mock:

          1) Woods, Peter- DT/Clemson
          2) Pregnon, Emmanuel- OG/Oregon
          3) Moore, Derrick- EDGE/Michigan
          4) Demmings, Charlie- CB/S. F. Austin
          6) Klein, Marlin- TE/Michigan

I actually think these are positive signs that Harbaugh is building a staff that wants to hire coaches from

I trust Harbaugh to find a new Safeties coach

Better him than Minter. Im sure Harbaugh has other coaches in mind.

Agreed. O'Leary was a very good coach but at least it wasn't Minter. It's a desirable position and Harbaugh should have little trouble filling it. As good or better remains to be seen.

I agree with Popper: running it back with Mack, Bosa, Tuli and Bud and not getting younger seems like a bad move

Matt Money Smith - is wrong about where the negotiations with Bosa start. None of that $25m is guaranteed so the Chargers don't owe him $25m. The bar for Bosa is $15m - what he made last year and lets be honest, he did nothing to show he deserves more than he made in 2024. Sorry, health has to be taken into account. Matt just loves the player too much I think

Higgins: I agree - he is the perfect fit for what they need. Moves Ladd to slot and moves QJ to WR3. Popper is right - if you are real about contending for a Super Bowl - you have to go for it.

If paying Higgins or trading for DK - just pay Higgins.

OG: lots of good options - whether its Smith, Fries, Banks, Becton or the older players like Zeitler and Scherff

                      Overall -- pretty good

Ex Raven Defensive Pass game coordinator coach Chris Hewitt looks like a viable candidate although he might be looking for a DC level position.

No problem. Just encourage Jesse Minter to take the Ravens D Pass Coord job, and we hire their guy. Then, we get a good COMP PICK! Plus, he could be an upgrade w/ more NFL experience. Knows teams. Ha. JK.
