someone explain that with crayons to Dmac for me.
I guess you missed the parts of the interview where Hortiz said that he and his scouting background have been well versed in different schemes and have picked players for different schemes for many years...and when he said management will be meeting as a group with the coaches Mon-Wed to formulate the plan.

Pretty standard and logical for football operations to collaborate and get on the same page as a group. But Mike McDaniel the OC, is not running the Chargers draft lol

He picked the IOL for the last scheme.

What was that called? The break Justin’s ribs and hand scheme?

Why you continue to show confidence in him telling Mike McDonald who his IOL will be versus the opposite cracks me up.

No i am just pushing back on your stubborn concept that the co-ordinators run the football team

"You have to understand there's going to be some players that move a little bit on your board because this guy in our old scheme may have fit better and doesn't as well now," Hortiz said. "Scouts can still evaluate for all positions. We've been doing it our whole career before Mike got here.

I watched him against Ohio State, and he was horrible. 6th rounder at best...

Then, about halfway thru the 4th quarter, I realized I had been so focused on him, and fast forwarding between plays, I missed some name drops of players, other details...turns out I was watching last years game! Oops...

Still have yet to watch anything but highlights from this year. Still not my fav...strength and anchor are ? marks...

But ill do my due diligence, eventually

Again, these personnel decisions are for the most part, a STAFF decision...yes, Trader Joe ultimately decides, but I can just about guarantee you, there are multiple meetings leading up to drafting, and the acquisition of FA's and UDFA's...and someone of McD's clout will have a LOT to say about who is acquired...

listening to Joe, seems like he is def adding to the TE & RB rooms, that he wouldn’t mind getting Zion signed before FA starts, that he’s gonna add to the Oline as job one, that he may be ok w/the wideout room as is, and he seems to like edge in the draft….

You nailed it in the middle of that post. staff and coaches inputs and discussions are not decisions, and they are not the same. there is one guy that makes player decisions. I may have already explained this once or twice …
