Let's see how English plays this season before officially placing the bust label. He may be a late bloomer and just needed a guy like Freeney to help bring it all together and be an impact on defense. If he stays healthy that is..

This. I think English is going to be a solid contributor this year. A viable option on that defense, maybe not the 16th overall pick type of production but look for him to contribute.

Funny, even without looking at your post I was thinking the exact same thing only I would omit the words "kind of". I would rather have English than Moreno.

AJ tried to be too smart for his own good. He gambled in the first round instead of going for the "known quality pick", trying, to use a baseball analogy, to hit a home run instead of just settling for a solid single or double.

AJ corrected this approach in his last couple of seasons with the team. To be consistent, I did not like the trade up to get Mathews just like I did not like the trade up to get Te'o.

He stopped going BAA and was reaching for needs, constantly. The worst was Buster Davis when we needed a return man. So bad. Granted we didn't actually have many holes that year, but that was just stupid.
