Sanjay needs to help him. We need McConkey and he is too tough for his own good and needs to protect himself. I did see him do that against the Saints very near the goal line, so he is learning.

Speaking of WRs, where did Renfro and Michael Thomas end up? Are they both still on the street?

    TG
    Both are free agents.

Saw a graphic that shows McConkey has out produced both Mike Williams and Keenan combined so far this season. That’s $54M? Worth of former Charger WRs he replaced.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

to be fair keenan is playing on a team with a rookie QB and is not the main focus in the passing game anymore. Here he was. As for MDub he plays for a past-his-prime primma donna who loves to blame everyone else and, IMO, thinks he's above the FO. screw a-A-ron rod gers.

JK Dobbins has 5 TDs and 535 yards > Eckler and any other former Charger RB from 2023-24. Fraction of the price.

KA gave us high quality production at WR for a long time. That said the speed Ladd brings from the slot stands out. That 60-yard TD route would've been a 25 yard catch by KA. Ladd has the burst after the catch and ability to run away from Lattimore (when healthy) has 4.36 speed.

Just wait until Herbert and Ladd build chemistry on timing routes.

What is stopping Ladd from creating seperation on double move routes downfield?
maybe time itself, as in protection, but that needs to happen.

I think you’re onto something - the adjustment from beating college DBs to beating Pros can take some time. Pros know more of the moves, can diagnose them quicker, are better athletes to recover, and just better in coverage. it’s why they are pros and 95% of college DBs are not. I think he’ll continue to learn what works best, develop new tricks of the trade, and get more and more open as time goes on.

I was a big Ladd fan pre-draft, nothing has changed at all. I see him as becoming Keenan+, who was the absolute master of quick step/move separation in his prime despite not being nearly as fast - and that is a hell of a high bar. Is it in 10 games or 20, idunno. His last 4 games I think were better than his first 3, growth is appearing before our eyes…

As to MDub - he does not appear to be fully recovered from his knee injury imo. Maybe he won’t, idunno - hope the best for him. I noticed him on a few plays, I don’t see the same MW on the field. DBs seem to handle him fairly easily. That last PI call he got was really ticky tack phantom shit, good for him but he wasn’t going to do anything on that play. I think he had 1 REC for 6 yards last night? Granted - there are at least 2 better WRs on that team now so he’s not going to get the chances anymore but I don’t know he could take advantage if he did get targeted more.
