I think he’ll continue to learn what works best, develop new tricks of the trade, and get more and more open as time goes on.
I was a big Ladd fan pre-draft, nothing has changed at all. I see him as becoming Keenan+, who was the absolute master of quick step/move separation in his prime despite not being nearly as fast - and that is a hell of a high bar. Is it in 10 games or 20, idunno. His last 4 games I think were better than his first 3, growth is appearing before our eyes…
As to MDub - he does not appear to be fully recovered from his knee injury imo. Maybe he won’t, idunno - hope the best for him. I noticed him on a few plays, I don’t see the same MW on the field. DBs seem to handle him fairly easily. That last PI call he got was really ticky tack phantom shit, good for him but he wasn’t going to do anything on that play. I think he had 1 REC for 6 yards last night? Granted - there are at least 2 better WRs on that team now so he’s not going to get the chances anymore but I don’t know he could take advantage if he did get targeted more.
MW doesn't look like he has the trust of his Qb. His game was never based on quickness or separation from DB's.
He's a contested catch player with very good ball tracking skills and a Qb has to trust that if he throws it up he'll go up and get it even if he looks like he's covered. That is MW's play style, to box out and out jump DB's for the ball.
Here's a couple examples of his very few targets he's had this season, he looks recovered enough to me.

Oh and my adopted son JK Dobbins is holding his own. Not sure if Gus will ever be a part again. But if so, that might be fun.

Scathing criticism of Keenan Allen. My guess is that KA's fall off in Chicago has more to do with the QB and coaching than KA declining. I wonder if he's thinking twice now about not accepting a pay cut to stay with Herbert and be a part of the Harbaugh experience. The Chargers could really use him, the Bolts might be 6-2 or 7-1 with him. Maybe the Bears trade him back to the Chargers today for a 6th or 7th round pick.
The Keenan Allen trade has been a massive disappointment for the Chicago Bears

One of the main reasons fans thought that Caleb Williams was in a position to succeed with the Chicago Bears is that he has a solid core of pass catchers.
D.J. Moore was a top wide receiver last year, Rome Odunze was a top-ten pick, and Keenan Allen has had a borderline Hall-of-Fame career.
While Odunze is starting to have his moments and Moore looks good when Williams can hit him, the addition of Allen has been a disaster for the team. When the Bears traded for him, that was the risk. Allen is 32 years old, which is firmly the age when receivers start to fall off of a cliff.
This is only a bit surprising because Allen is praised for his ‘old-man game’ that was expected to age gracefully. It has not. Entering the Arizona game, Allen ranked 82nd out of 100 qualified receivers in yards per route run.
On Sunday, he only made things worse. Allen had a pedestrian 36 yards, which is actually four yards more than his per-game average so far this season. Still, he added an ugly drop and a push-off that led to pass interference with those stats. Chicago Bears have to be disappointed in Keenan Allen
As the Bears have tried to sort out the roster, one area of strength has turned into a weakness thanks to Allen.
Even if you saw him falling off, no one saw it coming this fast and this hard. He was at 95.6 yards per game last year and is career-low 55.9 yards per game coming into this season. Even if he was averaging 20 more yards per week, it would still be the worst year of his career by far.
The Bears did not trade a lot for Allen, and they will likely be letting him walk in free agency after this season. With that in mind, the move is not a complete disaster that will hurt them for years. However, it is time for Bears fans to accept that the Keenan Allen era in Chicago will not be remembered fondly. There is no way to assume that he will improve this year, and the Bears have to accept this and work in Rome Odunze as the number two wideout.
Allen should slowly fade out as the clear-cut number three. This is not what fans or the team wanted or predicted.

But no criticism to CW.... the guy is f00king rookie and everyone is pretending he is seasoned vet.... and yes, Chargers should trade for him back.

Put KA back on the Chargers and see where we're at, those numbers are likely ALOT different... Not taking anything away from Conk, but the comparisons are dumb and unnecessary.

KA and MW are clearly diminished and it was absolutely 100% the right moves to make.
Could we have maybe squeezed out another year from KA? Sure, but I'm glad we got the cap situation fixed earlier than not.
