maybe no more leftover love after giving it all to his agent publicly.
KA is a good guy but he's not bright and if he thinks his agent has his best interest at heart he's even dimmer than I thought.
His best interest is to recognize that he had his best season because he was the only force-fed choice Herbert had and every DC they faced gladly gave him whatever years they wanted so long at they won the game.
a little modesty would have given him a better perspective of his 2023 season and just maybe humbled him enough to do what is truly in his best interest which is to shave off a few dollars, be here in LA with his wife and children and becoming the Chargers legend he was on track to being. Yes that's a judgment from me but an absolutely valid one that KA knows is true today as he regrets his decisions leading up to his trade.
Wow e tu Brutus? How quickly we turn on players who gave everything to the team and were some of the only reasons our team was able to be competitive most seasons.

like I said above, the mental gymnastics to demonize a player who was kicked off the team to support the new hotness at HC who has yet to win a game is astounding.

I HOPE Harbaugh does a lot for this team, I KNOW Allen has done a lot for this team.

I don’t think Herberts first 4 years were wasted..we made the playoffs with a good amount of injuries. We played a great first half in that game and possible to good to the point the team became over confident.

it goes back to coaching and grit and I do believe Harbaugh will be much better for helping in that aspect. How much better is the question going forward.

It's clear that you take what Chargers offer or you move on.

now the Chargers did ruin Phillip Rivers career

Well if Teleso and Staley hadn't screwed things up last year by pushing all their chips in -- this year wouldn't be a rebuild year - last year should have been the year to start the rebuild

If being honest about Herberts career , last offseason is when BOsa should have been traded and Allen traded or released.

I'm no therapist, but isn't it okay to love someone while not loving what they did? And vice versa?
Lot's of players I love do dumb things and just because they've been studs for us on the field, doesn't make their decisions less dumb.
I'm personally disappointed in how KA chose to tarnish his legacy tp keep a few bucks and I think it's foolish, greedy and selfish.
If he has no regrets well egg on my face but I think were all old enough to see a 31 year old instantly regretting his actions when we see one.
Prediction: I expect to see him play for close to the vet minimum in KC in 2025 because of the same victim-mentality that got him Chicago isn't changing in a year and he no doubt blames Jim/Joe for everything. Of course he'll say his joining KC has "nothing to do with emotion."

We’ll agree to disagree. I see it the exact opposite and don’t think asking a team leader to take less money a month into your tenure after negotiating a huge contract yourself is Kosher. It smacks of a lack of respect for players who have been performing and doing things the right way. These players don’t exactly have forever to make money and Allen earned his contract. I don’t see anyone going to the owners and asking them to take less money, we sure as heck don’t see anyone asking Harbaugh to take less money but Allen needs to be asked to take less money.

And if you think that’s fine cool, that’s your right. But this team is objectively worse without Allen on it regardless of the moves made (short of a blockbuster we all know won’t happen).

I don’t care what mid tier scrub we sign and what rookie we get this team is not as good without Allen on it. It just isn’t.

Hindsight being 20/20 we shouldn’t have signed Herbert for 50+ mil and traded him to get draft capital and let Harbaugh draft his boy JJ and rebuild for 3 years.

                    But here we are so…

The opportunity to have a cost controlled top tier QB was wasted. Injuries were bad but good teams overcome those. Coaching was without a doubt an issue. I hope Harbaugh is better but only time will tell.

I think any one slandering Keenan's name because he refused a pay cut should take their next bonus and 20% of their paycheck and give it to their boss in the spirit of being a team player and wanting to show you want to be at the company.

I have never blamed Keenan Allen once for not accepting the pay cut option. I agree with you

I think it points out that the market for Allen around the league was probably more than Mackl and especially Bosa. Bosa took a pay cut of almost 1/3 - tells me the league viewed him in the mid teens type of salary and not over $20m. Mack, I think the same.
