I would think they probably talked some numbers to see if they in the ballpark before setting up this workout. Assuming he looks good I am very hopeful this gets done. I think it makes us better.

Completely disagree with fans who are against this because the young guys need as many snaps as they can get. We have never seen KA not play at a high level

Veteran free-agent WR Keenan Allen, who spent his first 11 seasons with the Chargers, is visiting the club on Friday and there's mutual interest in a potential reunion, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported.

TBH I always wanted KA back over Mike Williams, if we were going to have a reunion with one.

At a minimum he will be a great insurance policy against injury and/or if QJ busts or Tre Harris takes awhile to get acclimated to the NFL. Also allows KLS to not be rushed, either.

Potential embarrassment of riches at WR if everything works out.

I definitely wouldn’t mind KA back, but I feel like what Mike Williams brings to the table (the 50/50 contested deep ball catches) is from a receiver viewpoint, what the Chargers were mostly lacking a year ago. When Mike Williams isn’t hurt, he’s definitely one of the best I’ve seen at it… so I’m hoping someone else can step up.

We definitely need a true X receiver.

The team really needs at least 2 more WR studs besides Ladd to go the distance.

If those two emerge from the QJ, Harris, KLS, Reagor group then the Chargers are fine without Allen.

The dilemma is you can’t say with iron clad certainty 2 reliable studs are a given out of that group.

Of course we all have high expectations but there remains some doubt and for one very good reason….Not a single one of them has proven it at the NFL level and in QJ’s case, it’s his 3rd attempt.

If you look at it that way…..bringing in Allen is good insurance. I’m for it.

Me too, X. Forget that x vs z vs blah blah - take the guy that can get open the most often against NFL defenders and then scheme up the routes for them. KA in a complimentary role will be good, I think.

QJ is going to be better this year, I don’t know how long Harris will take. But we’ve had a couple dinged up WRs at one time over and over and over and had to run scrubs out on the field … the KA point is insurance. Get them all some reps and targets, keep em all engaged, if one gets dinged we still have a potent receiving group, if two get dinged for a week or two, it’s not catastrophic.

I like our WR room. Whose' spot is he going to take? Ladd has taken KA's role. I hope he's doing a sign and retire a Charger.

Unfortunately, the injuries come with being great at 50/50 balls. That's a long way down when you go up to get one of those and they are usually not graceful landings. The body gets tired of that shit.
