Welcome To The Chargers, RB J.K. Dobbins

His pro career has been marred by constant injuries. But he had a good rookie season, 6.0 ypc, 9 TDs. He was outstanding at Ohio State, having some of his greatest games against Harbaugh's Wolverines. He just turned 25 in Dec.

I'm thinking this has got to be a veteran minimum type deal, kind of like how they signed Mason for 795k but the vested veteran minimum is like 1.79mil(?) IDK, we'll find out when they release the terms but I'd be surprised if Hortiz sacrificed one of the compensatory picks for Dobbins so late in the game and when 2 weeks from now he wouldn't have counted against the formula...

Seriously, top tier back when healthy.
there are others who are better overall, but he's in that tier imo.

              Welcome big guy.

And for all his stocky frame, still 5 pounds under our champ, LT. Mind boggling.

I met LT in person at least a handful of times at Charger training camps, he would pose for pictures with us and everything, he was not 220 or whatever they listed him at, he wasn't 5'10" either, not that it matters, Barry sanders was even smaller than LT and he's arguably the greatest to ever do it...ekeler had an amazing run here and he was probably between LT and Sproles size wise...

Not expecting much but yeah when healthy he’s very good and maybe he’s out to prove something. Hope he can stay on the field.

This has potential to be a great move. If Dobbins is all the way healthy, he more explosive than Edwards.

I’ve been very impressed with Joe Hortiz’s discipline to the positional value. They wanted to jump into the Sequan/Jacob’s/Henry pool but when the market didn’t stay suppressed as expected, they pivoted to their secondary plan.
Now their entire 4/5 man RB room will cost them less than $6,000,000. Great job by Joe to stay true to a commoditized position.

Now they just need to find their Keaton Mitchell and if he improved on his Blitz pick up, they may have him in-house already with Elijah Dotson.
