Believe it or not, we were better vs the run than Chiefs, Raiders, or Broncos last year.
None of those teams are happy about Joe Alt, Will Dissly, or Greg Roman.

We'll be playing team ball with malice aforethought. Alt is just one of 11. Former QB Harbaugh and G-Ro will attack the D in a variety of ways, most certainly including the run but also the pass.

The key word here is attack.Let the D react and keep them guessing while we run over them, throw the quick out and totally fool them every few downs.

Raider week starts this tuesday.

I was a proponent of a weapon at 5 and a RT later, or a trade down for a RT and maybe a diff weapon. I can affirm there is not one single thing that has happened since the draft related to Alt and Nabers that makes me pine for Nabers over Alt.

Drafting Conk in Rd2 was the icing on my cake, I love how they managed that 1-2 punch and am glad they hired a real pro instead of listening to an old hack like me sitting in a barcolounger at home.

Like yer thinking...if I was Madden, I would describe our "Take it to the Maxx Block" like this:

"First you have Dissley go over and give Maxx a nice, hard chip...BOOM! Then, your pulling guard crosses over and and knocks Maxx outside a step or two...BOOM! Then, Alt cleans up with a nice hand punch...BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!"

It's great when Herb has a stat line that reads 32 of 37, 410 yards, 4 TDs.... but not if he takes a helmet to the ribs and has to miss the next three games.

Protecting Herb is Job #1, IMO. Cries-donna-bicycle, he's The Franchise. There's nothing more important than keeping him functioning.

Taking Alt at #5 shows that Non-Trader Joe *gets* what some other Bolt GMs of the 21st Century didn't.

I would have select I. Simmons with the 6th pick of 2020 (Herbert).
That year, TT gave his 2nd and 3rd for K. Murray at 23.
With these two picks, J. Taylor (at 41) and B. Edwards (at 81) were avalaible at the Chargers spots.
Who seems the most guilty ? I would never have given my 2nd and 3rd for Murray.
Imagine if TT also picked Simmons at 6 !

I did pick Herbert that year, I’ve been crowing about my one (perhaps only) great pick ever since lol. I didn’t even know Murray. I couldn’t pick him if i tried.

I’ve only started studying draft options more the last 2 yrs really. Last yr I had Henley in my Rd3 LB cluster as the likely best available at a PON. I called for Zay Flowers at 21, that call is still looking like a good one. I don’t recall my Rd2 but it wasnt who we took - who I like a lot studying his tape AFTER he was picked.

This yr I called Ladd if we didn’t take one of the Big 3, and I was ok with Alt if Joe went OT5 but I really wasnt pounding the table for OT @5. I do expect Ladd to ball out. I even had Colson as one of my 2 LB choices but thats getting to be thin gruel … I didnt have any of our picks after that.
