Wait, I thought this was a deep WR draft. Did the NFL issue a moratorium on drafting WR's the rest of the draft?
We didn't take one of the best WRs available. Harbaugh was true to his word. He wants a dominate O line that can block
and run the football. I think there are still a couple things missing such as a scat back that can catch with speed, probably
a center and maybe an OG.
BUT we cannot win many football games by playing smash mouth football. You need a great D to go along with it. So
the smart moves now is build up the D. I would be surprised if we went with a WR @2, 3. It's possible later in the draft.
More probable we'll address WR after the draft with a vet. There are a few good WR free agents out there.
I'd look for DL, CB in RD2, 3. LB or CB, DL which ever we miss on in RD3. RD4 RB, perhaps more OL, DL and guys for
backup the rest of the way.
The best positions available at the top of the 2nd RD are CB, DL and WR. My take: we should just skip WR and fix the D.
I like Jenkins but it feels like there are better player available at 37
It’ll be interesting to see how this next pick plays out…
This would be the spot where you would think a MICH player goes….
Jenkins
Sanristil
Coulson
All huge needs for the Chargers defense
And I agree. I think Newton is a better DT than Jenkins.

Very interesting with those 3 Wolverines. This is the round they likely go but 37 feels a bit early for all 3 with the players at the top of the board today. Will we see a trade down to grab a Jenkins or Colson?
Between DeJean’s versatility and the Cardinals’ needs in the secondary, this is a team-player pairing that made a ton of sense in the first round — and makes even more sense in Round 2.
Would have loved DeJean. Looking at the Chargers pick of Colson, would prefer Cooper. Any of Newton, Cooper, or Colson works just fine. Also like Fiske, Harbaugh mentioned the element/trait of ‘compete’ , Fiske’ got that. But as stated above, just my 2 cents……
Gotta admit...Ladd McConkey is a player I love...just wonder about the impact...does he add something we shouldn't already have? Field stretching speed, or big, physical bully who can block, and win the 50/50 ball? On the other hand...he would be a great Keenan Allen replacement...because that is what he does the best...run the route, find a way to get open, and catch the damn ball...
But man...hard to pass on some of the other players there...
Comes down to what Jim n Joe are looking for in their next addition to the receiving corps...and also, of course...will he even be there? I doubt it.
What did Wes Welker bring? That’s what McConkey brings. All he does is get open and catch the ball. He’s a little gnat you just can’t get rid of. And we need a slot receiver.
And that’s not to say Newton or DeJean wouldn’t be a dream pick too.
I can’t see it being Kool Aid at this point. He has that broken bone in his foot that has a history of slow or non healing. Does he end up in surgery? I’d need more medical info on him before I passed on other top players.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.
