Consensus ranking, meh. Better than 2023 Chargers, depends.. We were NFL #6 in catches, #9 in receiving yards which is pretty good.

We were #17 in TDs passing. THAT we will improve on. Having a complete offense, blocking, running and receiving will make games tougher for opponent Ds.

IDK....we wont be throwing quite as much. Our pass attempts the last three years have been 672, 699, 630.

I think thats going to be somehwhere in the mid 500's next season so we may not be tops in any catagories except maybe wins. We'll see but i dont expect Herb to have anymore 5K passing yards. Might be tough to get him 4500 be we'll see how the offense goes with Roman. I hope it is very close to 50/50 and is very balanced.

Lamar has never had 4K yards passing or 500 attempts in a season but he runs a lot so cant guage by him. But neither did Alex Smith or Keapernick under Harbaugh....so we'll see.

I agree about fewer pass attempts. With little success on the ground that was our best choice.
I doubt that G-Ro goes 50/50 with the best passing QB he's ever had.
Making opponents defend R / P most downs is the strategy.

It's hard to guess without seeing this team play but I will say close to 600 pass attempts.
We'll need to establish that #10 and our receivers are a threat any time, any game in 2024.

Sorry, bro - I didn’t realize you’d been getting calls. I didn’t know anyone was asking you to hand out anything. I guess you’re more important than I realized.

All the more reason I want your support.

No worries. It's a common problem. Widespread in fact

Not sure what to expect from Chark. In his highlights he appears to be able create separation and get open, and he appears to have good hands. But his career catch rate is low - only 55.4%. In his 1008 yd season in 2019, his catch rate was 61.9%. He's never come close to that since. Just for comparison, Josh Palmer in this three seasons has a catch rate of 65.9%.

I like Chark, liked him in his draft for us. He should get along great with Herbert.

His low catch rate doesn't impress me, unless it's the QBs he's had to play with more than his shortcomings. But Goff was his QB in 2022 with the Lions, and his catch rate was only 57%, they let him walk after one season, same with Carolina. A low catch rate indicates drops and/or poor route running - not where he's supposed to be. To me he's a Guyton or Tyrell Williams type player, speed and capable of making occasional big plays, but not consistently reliable. It's OK, it's a low-risk signing, we'll see.

You should check his drop rate while you’re at it. I know that is a priority of yours

Why don't you check it and report back?

I mean, was the WR room that great last year?

MW and Palmer hurt. QJ a non-factor. KA basically a one man show.

I'll go out on a limb and say...lots of ifs (if QJ bounces back, if Ladd has a good rookie year, if DJ Chark can be a productive deep threat), then YES, the WR room will be better and much more rounded than last year.

You do seem impressed by catch rate numbers. It is a low risk signing. Established speed, route running are there on tape so yes, we'll see how he does with Herbert.
