The REAL question is whether PR's teammates are "clutch".....& the answer is emphatically "NO"!

I would agree but his last INT to Inman, he wasn't open so that's on Rivers. Tyrell was wide open and so was Gorden.

Just watched the last INT for the first time (had to leave the house right before it happened, heard the call on the radio). Ugly. Two open checkdowns (Gordon would have gotten a 1st down easily) and Williams 'more open' than Inman in the end zone. If Rivers had led Inman to the back of the end zone a-la game-winner to Tutu vs KC in '13, might have been a different discussion.

Oh well, you take the good with the bad and Rivers is mostly good.

The thing that stood out to me 2nd week in a row is we take a late 4th quarter lead only to have the defense give up a huge play to the opponent on the next drive setting up their game-winning/tying TD. Things like that combines with constant supporting cast bumbling has to have Rivers spiraling into shitty decisions like the game clinching INT Sunday vs TB.

Throwing the TEAM under the bus over its leaders poor decisions. Very Sabanesque. Rivers makes it tough on his team-mates by spotting the opponent a TD and compounding bad decisions with poor throws. At some point you have to take off the rose colored glasses and start calling them like you see them. We can't assume that every pick he throws is the result of the receiver running the wrong route, that's just being gratuitous.

I'm not sure anyone is saying Rivers is perfect or never makes a bad throw. But when you have some receivers that don't seem to ever come back for or fight for contested balls, it makes his job a lot harder. If Floyd was the receiver in the end zone on that last pick instead of Inman, the interception probably doesn't happen - even though we all agree it was a horrible pass.

Bottom line is Rivers (and this team) hasn't been relevant in some time...and even when he was putting up more monster numbers the team still wasn't winning. Trajectory is emphatically pointing downward.

Start looking for a guy to groom. The last thing you want is to be caught with your pants down and zero viable prospects.

I'd agree, even to the degree of not ruling one out a QB as our first round pick if the right guy is there.

Rodgers was taken around the 16th pick even though they still had an aging but still productive Favre on the team. It didn't work out too badly for Green Bay.

As the old saying goes; hope for the best, plan for the worst.

If he could do that whenever he wanted, that would solve our pass blocking woes.

He's done guys. His play down the stretch, which is supposed to be his prime time, was atrocious. Sad to see, much like LT, but I will not dwell behind denial. It time to move on...in more ways than 1.

Can't wait to bump this next February when Rivers is hoisting the Lombardi.
