At this point in his career work is work. But i think hes made over 15M. So maybe he thinks hes set. I think he could probably grab another contract but at his age he may not have the option to stay close to home. Im just wondering if he makes more sense than Watt. He gives us a little more versatility i would think. But ill be honest i didnt really study Watt and his blocking ability. So i dont know who is better at this point. We could stick with Watt....draft his brother TJ and lure JJ away in a couple years. Have the whole family on the team.

The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to place the franchise tag on defensive end Melvin Ingram by Wednesday’s Mar. 1 deadline, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Former NFL agent and current salary cap expert with CBS Sports, Joel Corry, recently told USA TODAY Sports Media Group that Ingram should expect to make approximately “$13.5 million-$14 million depending [on] where the 2017 salary cap comes in” as a DE.

And I suspect that is long term contract money, not franchise tag money. And if that is the market according to an independent expert, the Bolts should be prepared to pay it.

I think this is a good move. It gives us until July 15 or there abouts to get a long term deal done. We can't loose players like him and still compete long term.

I traded our 4th and 5th for Denvers comp 3rd just for shits and giggles. Assuming we re-signed Addai and tagged Ingram. Cut Flowers/Franklin. Sign Whitworth, Leary and Woodhead. Maybe draft a blocking TE late.
